I have a '99' 2500 Ram, bought in Dec. 1998, warranty runs out this December with only 31000 miles on it. I'v had it in for "brake pull" about 6 times and they have changed every thing in the front and gone through there "30 page" diagnostic and consulted with DC engeneers etc. They say that they can not find a fix for the problem. This last time I got it back it was so bad that with a loaded trailer I don't think I could hold it on the road under a hard panic stop. Some times one of the front tires will sqeal under normal stop with 6000# on the trailer. I am presently waiting for the service manager to get back to me with some sort of solution. My concern is that my warranty will run out in Dec. and I don't want to get stuck with future repairs and of course if DC says they can't fix it, who, where or what should I do to get this resolved. I'v been reading TDR for the last couple of years I am totally impressed with the knowlegde of its members. I'm sure that someone knows how to guide me through this.

DEJA VU BABY!!!! They CAN NOT fix that problem. They couldn't fix mine. You probably have to many miles to lemon law the thing. I bought mine out of state so that disqualified me from lemon lawing my 99. That whole stiuation really P'd me off. I feel your pain.

You might try calling the Chrys. corp. or they usually have a Ph. # in the back of your owners manual to call, I've had fair luck with this in the past, It won't hurt to try.

Keep all the shop tickets from the prevous repairs and make copies of them and send the copies to DC. A good freind of mine that runs a detail shop in Corydon had the same problem with his 98, it was so bad it would pull you into oncoming traffic if you panic stoped. The local dealer had it in the shop many times and could not figure out the problem. They replaced rear drums, rear pads, front rotors, front pads, all the brake lines, and finaly the master cylender(can't spell). All of this still didn't correct the pull to the left. They finally rplaced the proportioning valve and the truck stops like it should, in a strait line. By the time the problem was fixed the truck was 15,000 miles out of warranty but he didn't have to pay a dime because the problem accured while the truck was under warranty but the dealer could not find the fix. So just keep the paper work and have them replace the hole damn braking system if they have to because something is not right. Gurdons (the dodge dealer) ended up telling him they probley spent about $6,000 to $7,000 to finally fix the problem.. But the important thing is they fixed it, it might fave took them a while but they fixed it. They even gave him a rental car every time they had the truck for more than 24 hours. :D

Sorrey this was so long but bad brakes is a BIG problem that needs to be fixed.
