These are price estimates I received from a dealer. I want to keep my truck stock until the warranty is up. Can I buy these parts oem from someone else for less? And if so whom?

Fuel Transfer Pump: $314. 00

PN 05133196-AB

Transfer Pump Service Hose: $27. 80

PN 05133196-AB

Fuel Injection Pump: $1530. 00

PN 5104872-AA

Fuel Injector Rail Manifold: $485. 00

PN 05086869-AA

Fuel Injectors: $407. 00 @ 6 = $2442. 00

PN R5086894-AA

Fuel Injector Connecting Tubes: $52. 85 @ 6 = $317. 00

PN 05086867-AA

Fuel Filter: $37. 35

PN 5015581-AB

You can get the fuel filter from Cummins or Geno's. I'm not sure why you are considering the rest of the parts as they should be under the 7/100,000 engine warranty anyway.

PN 05086869-AA

I'm curious why you would be buying those parts if the truck still has a warranty as well. I think the installation bill will be cause for concern as well!!

See my post: "Code P0088". The dealer is telling me all the parts I listed are damaged due to excess water in fuel and is not covered under warranty. Here is the email I received from the dealer:

To whom it may concern,

Due to water passing from the fuel tank, through the fuel lines, through the pumps and through the injectors the vehicle is now not running correctly. It has a bad knocking noise from the engine and also the engine is missing very badly. Since the vehicle has been in water it is possible that water can leak into the fuel tank through the vents at each end of the tank and would be passed through the system from there. Since the vehicle was in enough water to replace the carpeting we <Royal Chrysler> would have removed the fuel tank for inspection. Here is an estimate for repairs to the vehicle. Also we <Royal Chrysler> have never seen injector tubes this rusty from normal moisture in the fuel system

Fuel Transfer Pump: $314. 00

PN 05133196-AB

1. 0 Hour Labor

Tansfer Pump Service Hose: $27. 80

PN 05133196-AB

No Charge in Labor

Fuel Injection Pump: $1530. 00

PN 5104872-AA

2. 0 Hours Labor

Fuel Injector Rail Manifold: $485. 00

PN 05086869-AA

1. 0 Hour Labor

Fuel Injectors: $407. 00 * 6 = $2,442. 00

PN R5086894-AA

2. 0 Hours Labor

Fuel Injector Connecting Tubes: $52. 85 * 6 = $317. 00

PN 05086867-AA

. 5 Hours Labor

Fuel Filter: $37. 35

PN 5015581-AB

. 5 Hours Labor

5. 0 Hours Labor to clean out fuel tank and all fuel lines.

$10. 00 for fuel after the repairs are made because the tank will be empty and dry.

Total Parts = $5153. 15

Total Labor = $840. 00

Total Tax = $360. 00

Total Fuel = $10. 00

Grand Total For Repairs = $6365. 00

I wanted to see if the pricing the dealer gave me in their email was in line with what others have seen. I am currently waiting on my insurance adjuster to inspect the truck. But I personally feel the original dealer who failed to drop my tank should be responsible. I am just not feeling like a big fight with them but I may have no choice. I called cummins yesterday here in KC and found they charge the following for the same parts:

Fuel txfer pump $307

Txfer pump service hose $16. 83

Fuel injection pump $1020 with exchange

Injectors $251 with exchange

Injector tubes $20

I just looked at the pic in the link above and I can't believe they would leave open fittings going into the tank like that. I checked on my truck and the fittings are open just like in the pic. These can allow moisture as well as dirt to get into the fuel system. I assume that at least one of these must be left vented, guess I'll plug one and rig some type of vent hose on the other. What's everyones thoughts on that idea?????

I would think a decent lawyer could prove the water entered the fuel system due to a design flaw. But, that would take a long time to get done.

If the damage was casued by water in fuel, I would think you should be able to file an insurance claim for it.
