Water seperation

So I go into the bowtie dealership with a friend who is looking at buying a new vehicle. The sales guy asks if I am in the market for anything, I politly respond "No, I have just purchased a truck" he asks what kind and I tell him. He then goes on to say how I am going to regret buying the dodge and that I will wish I had bought the duracrack sitting behind us. He tells me about how that truck will walk away from mine and out pull mine and how he had sold cummins in the large truck market for many years and the isuzu engine was far superior to the cummins. I puffed out my chest, started shooting out whatever I could to silence him and finally told him I would be back next week(when my inj and ez and DTT stuff will be in) and we would settle it then. Told him what I was going to do to his precious P. O. S and all he could say was "That's quite a claim" Yea, we shall see. Man I am still steaming about that conversation. By the way, have you ever looked under the hood on one of those things? No thanks!! Sorry for the long post. I just needed to vent to someone who would understand.

He is a salesman!! He is supposed to make sure you leave with the most expensive truck there. He is a salesman cause he lacks compassion and wears a suit like his hero Herb Tarlick from WKRP Cincinnati.

He will most likely end up back at the Dodge Dealership claiming those Duralogs have trans problems etc.

LOL:D Good one!

LoneRam: This is probably the guy's first experience selling a deezel, so he doesn't know what he's talking about. Forgive him, for he is ignorant. Then... . go kick his hiney!:D

I got a kick out of the GM guy at Scheid's last August. He was so puffed up and proud when us Dodge boys gathered around his D-Max after he started it up. With a big smile on his face, he kept saying, "Yup, it's a diesel. " I just walked away shaking my head saying, "This guy just doesn't get it, does he". He thought it was so cool that a diesel was quiet.

I agree Fireman Dave. Having a quiet diesel is kinda like peeing your pants in a dark room, Who is going to notice?:p

LoneRam,

If you post "told him I would be back next week(when my inj and ez and DTT stuff will be in)", that sure doesn't help your case.

I had a 02 3500 LT crew cab 4x4 Duramax /Allison on order a few months ago. It had all the latest and greatest gadits. Damn nice truck. Due to their production delays, I decided not to give them my 98 and $23,000 bucks. Have no regrets, happy with my 12V.

Hopefully we will be seing the new Cummins with the rumored 305HP / 550 torque and behind the Allison 5 speed. I'll always try to stick with Cummins, but I don't think I like the looks of the new Ram, and what about my Crew Cab Mr. Mopar ??????

Don't let it get to ya. It takes some understanding to appreciate this engine so sometimes it's our duty educate them. You can't expect everyone to understand right away. Get your work done and then go back and give him a lesson with examples. :)

Besides, I like having the underdog. I can't loose. If I get beat, no big deal, mine is only a small 6cyl made for fuel mileage;) . When I beat them, holy smokes do they feel small. Of course I'm not one to rub it in. :D :D :D

LoneRam, go back when your truck is ready and ask for him or look around for him. Then take him outside and ask him "Can your chevy do this?" Then hop in your truck and leave him a big greasy burnout. :D So what if it's a little immature.

Some sales men are dumb. My friend is the best boat salesmen ever he ask you what boat you have now and pays it all kinds of compliments. Even if it's on the bottom of he ocean. When I picked up my truck my girlfreind said maybe I should write a check for that Viper. The jerk then said "yea so I can play handball with it" dumb F*&^ doesn't know she is thrifty and makes about 400,000 a year. Two houses and more than he makes a week from the market

We laughed all the way home.

I don't understand. Did you tell him that you were gonna mod your truck to beat his? That would be like " an an an and when I get big I am gonna beat you up!!". Hope that isn't the case. Confidence is everything when you talk to them. Sell your truck back to him, in principle anyway. If you believe in it you can do it pretty easily.

The salesman sounds like an a$$ trying to make you feel like you need the Duramax. I had a guy tow my travel trailer over the Sierras to Reno from California so I could legally accept delivery of it. On the way over I followed his Ford F350 Duramax towing the trailer. When we got there he said, "Probably wish you gotta a Powerstroke eh?" Thinking his 45 mph towing was something else. He continued by saying "I got a chip in it and free flow exhaust, blah, blah, blah". I hadn't towed anything with my truck heavier than an enclosed trailer with 3 dirt bikes before this, so I thought maybe he was right, I would be glad to see 45 mph. On the way back over the Sierras, the old Cummins never dropped below 55 towing the same trailer. He asked me what I had in my truck when we stopped to take a squirt. Told him that other than the ETH option, I slapped on a set of mudflaps I got from the dealer. He said "Those are some damn good mudflaps". My truck is bone stock. I don't think it's an underdog when it comes to working, and neither does a certain Powerstroke owner.

thought i'd chime in here...

i sell the mighty dodge ram with cummins (Fusz Network, sells all lines, including dodge, ford, chevy, I only sell dodge though)

and have got into many arguements with the sales reps at the Fusz Chevy store. When all is said and done, no one will step up with the tow strap and prove their worth...

Put up or shut up...

they so far have chose to shut up

:D
