Hey guys,

Well, I went to have my lift pump replaced today, 'cause it's shot and they told me thay had one in stock. I removed all plug-in BOMBS so I wouldn't have to hear any BS, so there he is running all his tests to determine the obvious, which my pressure gauge clearly stated 0#'s. Then he gets a goofy look on his face, crawled under my truck, does a lookie-see,climbs back out and says... ... . I can't warranty this! You can't have that pusher pump on there!

Well, we went round and round fer a bit,and then finally the service manager decided to honor the warranty. The next problem was that the pump thay had in stock, was for someone else:mad: ,so now I get to go back in 2-3 days when the next pump comes in  . So I'm driving around UNBOMBED   . He did also tell me that if all you guys keep running those pumps, that pressure is gonna' blow the fuel line right off the injector pump! AND ,he just had a truck in there last week with a Banks kit of some sort on it,well he said that it made 40 some #'s boost and blew the MAP sensor right outta' the block!... ... ... ..... I may have to find another dealer.

Has anybody else been hassled about the pusher pump?

Sorry for the long post,but ... ... ... ... ... I had to vent,... ... ... ... ... ..... I feel much better now!:) ;)

I think you are your own warranty station. I can't believe that the Dealer is going to give you a new lift pump. You Bombed your fuel system with the pusher pump and if they read your EMC they would of known about your other Bombs. What did that guy on TV alway say "If you can't do the time don't do the crime" :D . You need to be real nice to this Dealer, most of them would of voided your warranty and sent you out the door.

Hey now,

I'm not expecting them to warrenty "other things" onnacounta' my BOMBING antics, but THEY KNOW those lift pumps don't last,BOMBED or not ! They don't need to use my BOMBING as an excuse not to fix their problem. :D Thats all I'm sayin', 'cause yea,I am pretty much my own warrenty station:rolleyes:

I know what your saying, but most dealers would just void you. At least this guy is going to take care of your lift pump. Gotta love that :D

It has been posted here before that most dealer's "mechanics" aren't familiar enough with the scan tool to see the "history" on the ECM memory.

However most Cummins mechanics can.

Might be differences in the OBDII software they're using.

BTW... . ECM=Engine Control Module... . I think

who's to say he didnt flag your butt in the computer. so the next time you go to any dealer you will be denied.

ever try to sell or trade in a truck that has a warranty denial on it?

i know a dealer that made a guy buy his truck back and pay restitution to the people that bought it, after he traded it in with a voided warranty and did not disclose that to the dealer taking in the trade.

a word of caution, it IS FRAUD fella's, whether you like it or not. for the cost of a lift pump, is it worth not beeing able to trade the truck in, or sell it to anyone that uses Carfacts?

Todd,

I have got way too much jack in this truck, and planning way too much more to EVER sell it! The only thing that pusher pump did, is let me keep driving the truck, otherwise they'd be paying the tow bill. :p
