Hi, All:
Hope someone can help me on this one. Was at my friendly Dodge dealer today, they want $755 for a folding stackable hard tonneau cover for a short bed. I thought this was steep. Does anybody know the name of the manufacturer that makes this tonneau cover. I'm sure I can buy this somewhere other than my Dodge dealer. But, I have had no luck. So, now I turn to my pals. If anybody can help let me know!

If it's the same as mine it's a Fold-A-Cover. I hope that's spelled right. I've had mine since I bought the truck in '95. It was dealer installed. The only trouble I've had is that the stick down guides came unstuck near the back after three years. Fixed that with stainless flathead sheet metal screws. It shoulda been that way to start with. I think it's the best cover around. Easy to get off if you need to haul something like rocks or firewood or whatever. It folds up out of the way for tall stuff. Don't forget to snap down the little straps or it will come unfolded at 75 on the freeway and flap in the breeze(entertains the rice burner pilots!). A plus is that you can walk on it when it's covering the bed (I don't think jumping up and down is a good idea).

Markcuda, I've got the same cover. Its on my 2nd truck. It was on my 96 1st, dealer installed for $600. I really like it, it especially works well if you pull a 5th wheeler, as it fold out of way and still covers 100 gal. aux. fuel tank.

Markcuda,
I've got the Fold-a-Cover on a '96 short bed and it works very well. I had the same problem with the adhesive mounted rails coming lose - fixed it with stainless rivets.
I have only two complaints.
1. I haul motorcycles and have to remove the cover - sure would be nice if there was a quick release mount.
2. On the version I have (read old) the front panel does not flip up for access to the front of the bed. My dad installed a Fold-a-Cover on the '96 LWB and that version has a folding front panel - very convenient.

Two lessons learned - screw/rivet the rails in place and make sure the tailgate latch catches and locks. My dad's set up has a bed liner and there was a small problem with the latch catching and locking the tailgate.
