I find it so hard to sit still reading all of the loyal Dodge owners opinions on the dealer service, so I decided to share what it is like to be at a good dealership.

I took my girlfriends little Solara to the dealership yesterday.

I realized that while the folks at Toyota wouldn't know a manly truck if it came through their house on a horse, they do know how to treat customers after a sale. They were friendly, offered soda and treats while I waited, I was like a deer in the headlights. I realized how Dodge had lowered my standards to a point where I didn't know how to react!!! It was so refreshing not to hear "That's not covered" or "What did you do" or "We can't help you"

After they realized the problem they said and I quote "We know your time is valuable, would you like a loaner car to go back to work while we fix these issues free of charge"

I realized that this dealership has mastered turning a negative into a big positive... . I wish American car dealerships can learn that all the pre-sales handholding is not more important than working towards a repeat customer.

I am very bitter about my dealership, they lost parts off my truck, left parts off my truck, refuse to help with my cup holder rattles, are useless at solving any problems, and the worst thing of all is they convince me for a time it was my fault I am not happy! Is this concept of helping the customer really that foreign to the folks in the Dodge dealer network.

If Toyota or Nissan come out with a diesel, I will sell my Cummins engine and the low quality wrapper Dodge put around it!

Try going to a Saturn dealership then returning to Dodge. They ar enice know you by name treats coffee candy. One time even lunch. They fix evrything under warranty even motor mounts at 42,000 miles. Can not even get a bad computer program fixed by DODGE 5 STAR for less than 65 buckaroos

I will be testing the Dodge service next week.

My last 3 trucks were 2 Nissans and a Toyota. Very good service and great vehicles but not perfect. My Nissan Pathfinder broke it's exhaust manifold bolts at 50K. At first they refused to fix it under warranty and wanted $500 to fix it. My wife ripped them a new one and they ended up splitting the cost with us. She had a Saturn and the service was excellent but now my Mom has one and the dealer (a different one) just screwed her with a $300 bill for the 30K "tune-up" when she requested an oil change.

I guess it all depends on who your dealin' with.

Just depends on the DEALER. Toyota dealer here is AWFUL. The NISSAN dealer I worked at 14 years DID not LOAN cars etc. WE got BURNED on them badly,wrecked/left NASTY/drugs left in them and some NOT returned had to HUNT them and repo our own autos. The D. C. dealer I worked with LOANED autos and I wondered how long THaT would last. Well when TWO in one day returned WRECKED one on a flatbed and ONE SHOT threw the dash with a 45 that was THE end of that. A few BAD apples spoil it for everyone else. Most dealers have gone to outside RENTAL agencys because of the damage done to their LOANER cars. I've got LOTS more horror storys on rentals or loaners. Anybody that LOANS cars is taking a chance WITH THOUSANDS of dollors of potentianl loss.

Depends on the dealer...

Yep, it depends on the dealer!

I've bought four CTDs from my dealer in the last 14 years and have had nothing but excellent service (above and beyond). A small town country dealership that sells mostly to farmers/ranchers and contractors. I know the generl manager and the service manager personally. You can talk directly to the service tech who works on your truck.

There is a Dodge/Toyota dealer close to where we live, but I won't darken his door! They are rude, arrogant, and couldn't pour p*** out of a boot with the instructions on the heel! They are a "big city" type dealership with "high pressure" sales. Once your truck goes in for service, it "disappears" and you can't to talk directly to the service tech... probably for a reason.
