Tail lights are UGLY, but the sheet metal looks the same, so a set of 03-06 lights could easily be swapped.

Headlights, I think look better, I didnt like the yellow reflector on the bottom, plus a larger projector for the headlights is a good thing.

Badges, in a way, i dont think they are that bad, at least it maked the engine badge not look like its out of place like on the 06's. It will probably grow on me, but again, easily removed or swapped for 03-06 badges.

Also, has TDR made up their mind when 4th gen will be acknowledged? Seems to me that 2006 should have been the start, as the 06's completely changed in the wiring aspect, and the sheet metal slightly changed as well.

I see what you are saying about the wiring and the refreashend front and interior, but lets face it the truck still sits on a 3rd gen chassis. A vehicle can't really be considered a new generation to the next IMO unless it utiliizes new chassis architecture and sheetmetal. Think back to when the 2nd gen got the 24V and a new interior along with different exterior trim, it was still considered a 2nd gen non the less.

taillights look like a chevy. I like the headlights better than the 06. Hate the badges. Its got the ford look to it now(badges i mean).

Id the parking lamp / brake-turn lamp setup is changed, it is swappable, but not a bolt in swap.

The '03's - '06's have a solid bar with three lights attached, one for parking, one for reverse and one for brake turn and parking lights.

If this new truck only has a brake turn parking bulb, and a reverse light, then it only has two bulbs, and you will have to wire splice the extra bulb in.

looks like they stuck with the same, ugly, ST model looking, easy staining, extremly plain, horrible, seat fabric again. Its the one thing i hate about my '06.

I'm glad I got the '06.

Hey Jack, how did you take your badges off? I'm sort of interested in going for that "shaved" look myself. Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.

I want the electric antenna. I think the 6. 7L engines are only in the 07 Chassis Cab model. Thanks for the pics.

Amen!! I was really wanting to spend the money on performance upgrades, but I don't think I can WAIT to get the terrible seats out of my truck. Just a drip of water stains them!!! :{ Enough about that!!!

I too am glad that I got the '06. Thank goodness I don't have to worry about this whole emissions thing...

The badges are terrible on the '07!!!! Like Cobrajet said, they'd be gone before it left the lot!! I can't believe they replaced the badges with a cheap piece of plastic. D/C definately saved a penny or two with that change... For what we pay for new vehicles they should be made of gold!!! :p

The headlights are okay. I like the amber myself. The taillights are kinda icky, but would probably grow on a person. I agree they resemble GMC's work.

That's just my $0. 02... :D

100 degree day, very carefully pried them off with small screwdriver. Them came two hours of removing adhesive with "Goo Gone" and "OOPS".

That new truck looks about as gay as it gets. I'm glad I bought one when I did. It looks like they are making a subtle transition over to a dakota like body style and i think it's ugly as sin. Bleck!!

I heard to use dental floss... A screw driver's to scary

Tried fish line and dental floss, no luck. Just be sure of the placement of the screwdriver and pull outward. Do not try to "twist" the blade. Only emblem I broke was the "SLT" emblem. If I ever do this again, I will go to an automotive paint supply store and get some adhesive remover made for the job. Removing the adhesive was a nightmare. Absolutely no paint damage done in the project. Not the slightest scratch.

Using a hair dryer to heat the area good helps in emblem removal.

Correction:

upper red light: parking (dim)/turn/hazard (bright)

lower red light: parking (dim)/brake (bright)

I don't understand why they would ditch separate turn/hazard lights other than being cheap. Too many automakers think taillights have to "look cool", completely forgetting what they're really for. Even Volvo's taillights are starting to look ridiculous, especially on their wagons.

I just wish I knew what the heck Dodge is trying to do with their new design language? The Durango, Dakota, upcoming Nitro and now Ram have adopted these ridiculous taillamps that look like rocket afterburners. What gets me is that the third generation body is pretty clean & clutterless as it is, very conservative and then they go and tack on the Mickey Mouse taillamps and badges. What gets me about the Headlamps, is without the Amber lower section, in person the lamps look huge! Who knows by the time they redesign the whole truck, the headlamps might be stretched all the way back to the firewall like a damn Toyota!

I have to say, I do like the solid silver trim around the radio. I have an 06 SLT and I don't really think the fake wood fits with the rest of the truck.

Also I agree with the person that posted about how easy it is to stain the cloth seats. . I have only had my 06 about a month and it needs to have the fabric cleaned... Maybe i will try some scotchguard...

Agree on the easy staining. My son used my truck to pull his race car back from Tucson. He stopped at McDonald's and rear seats were covered with french fry fingerprints from grandkids. Cleaned it up and picked up two cans of Scotchgard from Ace Hardware. Haven't had the problem since.

Very quick way to remove emblems... . 3M Adhesive Remover. This thing works wonders. Spray right in the gap, let it work, spray a little more while you are peeling it off.
