It looks more like polished metal to me from raised metal, but what do I know? Don't really know about performance since I don't have gauges yet, but haven't noticed excess noise. Hmmm, wife commented about how the truck should have a gauge to indicate when to shutdown. Now, to protect and monitor this dangerous situation I need a boost guage. How do I justify the transmission temp gauge?

Well, because of the undetermined effect this dangerous situation could have on turbocharger efficiency, I would get a pyrometer to keep track of EGT, just in case the engine is starving for air. Of course, if this catastrophically damaged impeller should start putting out too much boost (I know, I know, this one's a stretch, but play along with me), and if somehow this caused the ECU to get confused and start to overfuel (hey, no one said this would be easy!), then all that additional horsepower could cause the torque converter to slip excessively, driving up transmission temperatures.

Do you think that will play in Peoria?? ;) :D

Looks about like mine with 163,000+ on it. Now I am worried! I might only make it to 300,000 if that blasted "53" block will just hold out!

Flame suit: ON. :p

Mine and a friends looks identical to yours, when I first saw it,I thouhgt it was a strike or a bent blde with fatigue cracks..... Had to get a powerful light and a magnifying glass to see it was only a balancing releif ! Don't worry.
