I noticed the ad for Carson Dodge in Issue #52 of TDR. Do they cater to TDR members? Do they have the best price in the States? According to their web site, their "net price" for a loaded 2007 Laramie with 48RE/5. 9L is $47,200 after the $2500 rebate. The truck I ordered (nearly all the same features except SLT and cloth seats but everything else), which I probably won't get comes in at $10K less than that and I got two-tone paint, clearance lights, bedliner, protection shields, sliding rear window, and adjustable pedals, etc thrown in. Can't see $10K for a Laramie badge and leather seats.

I probably won't get this truck (see my "still wondering" thread in the 6. 7 forum), so I'm thinking about plan B when we get back to the states that can maybe beat AAFES price (I can't even find a better price for what I'm getting on eBay). Problem is, if I go with AAFES if the 5. 9 order falls through, I'll have to take new one with a 6. 7. I've got the money to buy and can really take my time doing the homework getting the best deal.

So who is the best dealer for TDR members? I assume Carson Dodge is on the short list. I've read in a previous post that someone offers TDR members an additional $5K off... is that a pipe dream?

Bottom line (sorry for the novella): where do smart TDR members buy their new trucks for the lowest price? Who should we stay away from (know we've got to be careful answering this :-laf )?

In MY opinion, Carson Dodge does have some good deals occasionally but there are better and more consistent deals to be found. I would contact a few other places to see what you can find. Dave Smith Motors, Dishman Dodge, and whomever Tomeygun works for now. I'm sure others will post good places for pricing.

The one thing I will say, is that Carson Dodge does have a good service department. Go to Reno Dodge at your own risk.

I bought from TomeyGun, more correctly Lou Fusz Dodge in Kirkland Mo 63122, drove the truck back from their dealership. About 10. 5K off MSRP when I bought mine, they do the same deal everyday, and depending upon rebate you could get more off, when I bought their was only 2K off. Scotty

I have purchased three trucks from Carson Dodge. Get with salesman Chuck Gillies. I don't know that they "cater to TDR members" per se, but you can get a good deal there. I do beat the Carson Dodge drum, but with nothing in it for me. That being said, I have not purchased from elsewhere and have no personal comparison. Good luck!

try your local costco I compared them to Dave Smith in Idaho it was same price no haggle could not have been easyer any new car from now on will be thru costco Randy
