2 things

1. My truck has pulled to the right since day 1.

2. Because of a bad fuel mileage problem, I put on a FP guage

to moniter fp pressures. If I stay on the throttle past 2/3

the pressure drops below 0... . Not good

So I take it to the dealer today (still under warranty@ 32K),

after leaving it all day. and mind you I wrote a very specific note for them the night before, They don't even call or anything... I go to the dealer @ 5:00, and the Service dept. , is closed... . so I get my key from sales, and drive my truck home... ... There's a message on the Machine!!!... . "Sorry Mr Cahill, we couldn,t find anything wrong with your truck... . Everything is within spec!!??

Taking it back tommorow..... First I'll see if anybody on the lot can read a guage! ! ! !

Then I'll try the TDR method of showing them how it pulls!!!

Goes' like this... . You find where all the "nice" cars in the lot, you tell the Service Writer" you'' get it up to 25... then you let go of the wheel... . Maybe that'll work... ...

If not... My girlfriend will have to show them what is is to have

You better leave your girlfriend at home, otherwise they won't even notice that you drive a truck. Or maybe that's what happened this time? Probably mixed you up up with someone that drives a Durango! Ya know, pictures are worth a thousand words!

Find another dealer. I took my truck in and told them the lift pump was going out, it wasn't even dead yet. It had about 11 psi at idle and dropped to around 0-1 on hard acceleration. They said "we better change it for it dies, huh?!" .

I was out in 45 minutes.

I love Benny Boyd (well, his dealership, that is :)

www.bennyboyd.com

ps... guess it doesn't hurt that there diesel tech is a TDR member, either. I can't understand why some dealers drive customers away, this dealership has people driving 100's of miles just to go there (I passed 3 dodge dealerships on my way to get the lift pump changed, took me over an hour to get there, and it was worth every minute).

Colin my truck steering wheel wasn't centered and initailly pulled to the right as well. Took it off roading and it started to drift too. After a computer front end alignment $55 and installing LukesLink ($60 or there abouts) Steering has been great.

It cost me about $150 to upgrade to a Carter 15psi pump that I mounted on the frame by the tank. If it fails a replacement is only $89 and ten minutes of my time. If you do a search you will find that the factory pickup pump has been the weak link in the fuel system. (Ask MikeR) When you do some bombing it seems to make them fail much earlier. Time is money and you have already given a day of it.

My stock pickup pump failed at 31K at SIR during Mopar days. I now have 38K and feel it was the most cost effective upgrade I have done to date. To me haveing the dealer replace the pump is just going to be a band-aid fix.

Come onboard Colin, we welcome you and your pictures to the darkside!

There is a company in Texas that will do it. I remember that there was a discussion about it a year or so ago. Don't remember who or where though:(
