Just recieved a notice from Dealer Warranty Services saying that my factory warranty is about to expire (which is true) and that I can renew it. Have you extended your warranties as well? I have to keep my 04. 5 till it pukes so I was a thunkin' that I should do it.

I've received those mailings before. It's nothing more than an attempt to separate you from your money.

Look closely at it. Does it say "Daimler Chrysler" on it anywhere? I'll bet not. This is junk mail that tries to appear official.

If you buy that warranty, expect to have to pay up front and wait for reimbursement.

Just my opinion and it's worth exactly what you paid for it.

I personally own 3 trucks..... all 3500's, 04, 04. 5, 05, the 04 has over 235K miles and the other two are close to 100K... . If I'd bought the extended warranties I would have been giving them money..... everything that's happened to us was either before the warranty expired, or would have been after the extended warranty expired... .

If they had a 3 year, unlimited mileage warranty for say 2000. 00 I'd buy it... . but that would be it... .

DO NOT fall for these "extended warranties". These are not from DC, the are an aftermarket company that got your info from a credit reporting agency. If you notice, the envelope and accompanying letter is designed to look like it is from the manufacturer. They are crooks, looking to deny coverage for any reason possible. Every dealer I worked for in the past would turn away the customer if these were presented for "warranty" repairs. An authentic extended warranty would be from Chrysler, and would say so in the offer.

I have to agree with Dodge-tech on this one. I have dealt with several BOGUS extended warranty companies being in the service dept for several years. If it does not say DC on it anywhere, shred it. It is not worth the paper it is printed on. Do your homework if you are looking at getting an extended warranty.

I'd figured that. I did ask the service manager at my local dealer some time ago about extending my extended warranty and was told there wasn't much availible. And your're right, nothin' at all about DC on it.

I did call to see what it was about, though. For $104. 20 a month, was told I'd get another 5yr/100,000 mile warranty. To good of an offer. Crap like this should be a crime!

Thanks.
