This is in regards to the downshifting into a lower gear and redlining the engine on its own. Thread ("48RE Burp")
BTW this trans is a 47 not the 48
They called DC and they think that there is a check ball that can swell up in one of the trans cooler lines. They said it isn't the same valve that the recall is for. This may cause the electronics to think that the fluid is getting to warm and will pull it out of overdrive. They also told me that these engines actually red line at 4250 rpms even though the tach states 3200.
What doesn't make sense to me is this isn't a case of it pulling out of overdrive because it was in drive and shifted down to 2nd if my memory serves me right.
They flushed the system and did a pressure test and ran the truck 150 miles with no problems.
But they told me to come get my truck and keep in touch
