On April 23, my Brother-in-law, Bill Bryant, died in a motorcycle accident.
Bill was a member of the TDR for many years. While not a vocal member, he spent quite a bit of time learning from the input you all posted. Bill introduced me and his brother Charles to the TDR and suggested we join. He was an avid Cummins enthusiast and Mopar collector. His pride and joy was his 85 Dodge crewcab longbox dually w/Cummins. It may not be the prettiest, but it pulls like an elephant.
I know this may seem dated, but Bill was like a big brother to me and it took me awhile to get up the strength to do this. I am including a copy of a letter that my Brother-in-law Charles sent in, as well as a few edited pictures from the memorial.
[I]" My brother, Bill Bryant, and I, are long-time readers/subscribers of the TDR. Unfortunately, Bill lost his life recently in a tragic accident at the age of 42, leaving behind a wife and three children. Bill and I have collected several (over 75) MOPAR vehicles over the years with the majority of them being 1972-1993 body style Dodge trucks. We had always wanted to get a few of these trucks together at the same time but never did. With the help of family and friends, we drove 10 trucks in a group to Bill's memorial service. As a tribute to my brother, his family would be honored if you could print these pictures in memory of Bill. From left to right are:
Bill's 1985 Crew Cab with a 5. 9 Cummins;
Bill's 1990 Ramcharger with 250,000 miles;
Bill's 1975 Ramcharger owned since 1988 and has over 200,000 miles;
Bill's 1975 Ramcharger with Dana 60 front & rear (driven on the day of the service by his 15 year old daughter);
1978 3/4 ton Power Wagon with 70,000 original miles and a 400 engine, owned by Bill's 17 year old daughter;
My 1976 Warlock Power Wagon, Dana 60 front & rear, w/ 205 transfer case (original 440 truck and has seen lots of abuse since 1986);
My 1979 3/4 ton Power Wagon with 80,000 original miles, Dana 60 front & rear, w/ 205 transfer case and a Gear Vendors Overdrive;
Our dad's 1993 Club Cab 5. 9 Cummins;
Our sister & brother-in-law's 1988 2-wheel drive Ramcharger(That's me);
1979 1/2 ton 2-wheel drive owned by a friend's 17 year old daughter.
I had the honor that day of driving Bill's Crew Cab and his 6 year old son rode with me. Bill's kids plan to keep Bill's memory alive by driving and wrenching on his vehicles and I will be by their side to help.
I appreciate your consideration.
Sincerely,
Charles Bryant
