Are you for or against the death penalty ?

  • Total voters
    131
  • Poll closed .

How do you react when someone spouts off complete baloney?

Prepare to be annoyed by GM (?)

100% for it. And, it should be televised. Like I said in a different post, if someone commits a crime and gets caught, that same crime should be commited to them on national television. I feel this would solve a lot of problems in this country.

Murderers, pediphiles and rapists should definitely go. I agree it should be televised. The reason why some believe it does not deter crime is due to it not being used the way it should. Also for those that protest it and want these people to live, they should be put on a list and the next time one of these animals gets a pardon the next in line on the list gets a new house guest. I for one do not want to support or feed them.

Don't cry to me about some murderer being put to death. Their victim(s) didn't get to live out the rest of their life on the government's dime... . so they shouldn't either.

My favorite quote-

"Most states are trying to abolish the death penalty. My state is putting in an express lane" -Ron White

I say strap them to a table and harvest all the organs for the decent people in need, and make them pay the way they should! The problem is the punks know nothing will happen to them for whatever they do while the victim pays dearly!Send the message to them eye for an eye!!

...

funny thing is... is the people who are more than likely against abortion are Pro-death penalty  . . what would Jesus do ?

The wording of this poll makes no sense. ""Yes", I am for or against the death penality.

LOL, my thoughts exactly.

GIT-R-DONE,

I did a quick poll edit that hopefully clarifies the answers you're looking for. If not lemme know and I can change it again.

Dan-

Well, sometimes when I think it just doesn't get to the keyboard in time before I change my mind... . :-laf :-laf Thanks for the clarification.

I am against it. We can punish these bad people more by keeping them confined without any frills, but we don't.

What we need is a law that says " any attorney who helps to release/prevent conviction of a criminal, must house said criminal for 5 years. "

Now, crime will go down.

Put these criminals away in AN UNKNOWN TO TO FAMILY/FRIENDS place and only allow minimum food to keep them alive. No weight sets, no tv radio entertainment etc.

These guys are proud to be in prison where they can cope and demand thier rights.

Limit them to one access to the courts. DNA testing is very convincing.

i am 100% for the death penalty, but up here in canada, we don't have it, and there are many criminals sitting in jail up here who deserve it so badly. .

i also think all sex offenders and rapests should have their bits cut off to never be able to do their crime again.

I am against the death penalty. But, not for the reasons you may think.

I am for TRUTH in sentencing. If one gets 10 years- they do the 10... . If one gets life, then they die behind bars. For some crimes, death is too good for scum. HARD TIME where every second is spent regretiing the action a criminal took to put them in prison.

Here in Texas, we face a situation where life without parole was not available. An individual convicted of a capital crime and given a life sentence was eligible for parole after 40 years. Therefore, unless given the death penalty, there was no guarantee that the criminal wouldn't be back out on the street eventually.

To me, this explains a lot when looking at the number of death sentences sought by prosecutors and handed out by Texas juries.

I'm for it. It costs alot of tax payer money to keep them going their whole life besides the fact that they deserve it. You will never get the cable tv's and weight sets out of prisons this day in age where people fight for the rights of criminals over law abiding people (you know. . the same ones who think terrorists deserve better treatment than our own soldiers). I wish it would happen much sooner so it would actually be a deterrent. If people were executed within 60 days of their crime it would put the brakes on some violent crime committed by others.

For it!

I fully support the death penalty. Let's face it, nobody on death row is a shining beacon of the good in humanity. These people have been convicted of committing horrible crimes, why should society provide them room and board as well as health care and entertainment for the rest of their natural lives? I know "Texas just put in an express lane" but it still takes too long and costs the tax payers too much money.

If I had my way they would go from the court to the execution location alot faster than they do now. No more sitting on death row for decades sucking taxpayer dollars.

These people sure didn't give their victims any special consideration, I feel no moral obligation to give them any either.

My . 02

For it !

The recidivism rate for those who receive it (death penalty) is extremely low. The comment about truth in sentencing is valid. A kid I went to H. S. with, murdered 2 women, cut up the bodies, and threw them into the river. He got 3 or 4 life sentences. This was 1976 or so. He is now out . I`m glad he found Jesus, but I don`t think he should have found his way out of prison. Tough call, but do the crime, pull the time. DK

in todays world 'doing time' is allmost a glam thing... . a sick sort of right of passage even. More and more criminals are getting away with more serious crimes. With the death penalty in place AND BEING USED not just for high profile cases would probably detur many a thug.

I am only for it when there is absolutly, without a doubt, guilt. If you watch the right news spots, you see on occasion where new DNA analysis techniques have proven someone on death row Innocent. Or worse, Someone who has been executed was Innocent. That possibility really bothers me. Oh well. enough soapbox for tonight. P. :p
