Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip tires have E rated sizes.

I have about 20K miles on mine so far.

Very aggrsive AT tire. Much more like a MT tire.

Towed on and off road with them. Aired down as well.

I 33x12 E rated PJ mounted on AR 16x8" rims.

Stick out just maybe an inch.

Except for the shocks (Bilsteins), my suspension is stock, untouched, except for greesing. Just turned 50K on a run up to Buffalo.

I'm loving them, no worse than stock tires in the rain, far better off road and in the snow.

They fill the wheel well perfect.

Just a little rubbing on the front inside, on the mud flap at full cock.

If there are this many people with this steering problem, why isn't DC able to narrow down where to fix the problem, or do a recall on this serious safety problem? There seems to be so many places to start(gear box, tires, steering shaft, etc. ) When looking at all the possible problems to repair, the price tag is going to be expensive. I thought I was buying a heavy duty truck? '00 2500.

Because the majority of these problems are self induced, i. e. lifted trucks, tires that are not E load rated, suspenion modifications.....

I also think in a money saving move DC took a decent designed that worked fine in a jeep and lighter 1/2 ton with a gas engine (that weighs about half as much as our Cummins). . and used it in an application and now it's marginal.

So lift it too much without enough re-engineering, and you encroach in on those margins and problems pop up. Use too large of a tire, poof... .

There are lift kits and then there are lift kits.

The Cummins is a very heavy engine to have in a 1 ton passenger truck.

If you change one thing too much in a "system", you have to re look at the rest of the "system".

The unitized hub/bearing is a great example of DC saving money and designed right to the spec. Ford did the same thing, but Ford was known to be a much worse problem, kits came out very quickly to retro fit the front end from the aftermarket.

Big tires are the early death of the unitized hub/bearing.

Same thing goes for the caster specs. You can increase the caster and decrease the floating / wandering feeling of the front end. . but at the cost in life of the Ball Joints.

All due to the weight of the Cummins. Has I came to understand from some earlier discussions, DC was aware of this and to incease the life of the ball joints, they spec the caster to be very low (3degs). While other gas engine trucks would have twice as much more caster. (I'm going on memory here... from discussion a few years ago , here on TDR forum. )

In my truck, my last truck (03 2500 hemi), and my Jeep unlimited DW occured after putting on larger tires. On every one of them it turned out to be track bar bushing that were to mushy. Only figured it out after toying with the jeep for about 2 days changing tires and whatnot. By the way jeep is bone stock with the same basic suspension setup the rams have.

I have a 95 Jeep GC, bone stock, all original, 130Kmiles, BFG AT KO 235x75x15, (~29 x 9. 5), the biggest size that stuffs in the well without cutting.

I've never had a hint of the DW in it.

I am getting ready to add a KORE suspension to my truck. I ordered the recon last week and will put it on this weekend. I also have the DSS and am going to be putting on solidsteel's trackbar bracket with their adjustable track bar. Also I am in the process of upgrading the y style steering to the T. The core system comes with drop blocks for the stabilizer bar which I cannot install because of the dss. To get around this I ordered adjustable endlinks from Carli suspension to place my stabilizer bar back to the correct geometry. I plan to keep the stock sized tires and rims. Are people having alot of problems with the KORE suspension and the death wobble. I was under the impression the kore suspension would improve the ride. I have a question for Greg Boardman. How much do I need to extend my new endlinks with kore 2. 5" lift since I am unable to install the drop blocks due to the DSS being in the way. Also How do I determine the correct length for the adjustable track bar so my axle stay centered. Thankyou

make sure the axle is centered (same about of tires sticking out from the fender well) , measure eye to eye of the brackets, make the bar the same lenght from the two mounting points.

To reduce bump stear, the track bar is supposed to be parallel with the steering link from the stearing box. That's the main reason for the drop bracket.

Hi Jesse,

I have not seen the Carli End links. I do not believe they are the solution to the problem of the anti sway bar angle. They may help but are only used to protect the end links on full droop. Maybe call Skyjacker. They use a similar type of end link. They might be able to answer you questions better.

Thanks,

Greg DRC

Has DC changed the steering set up on the recent 4x4 models ('05 and newer) to fix the steering wobble? Or is it still a problem for Dodges?

I have an '05 with stock ride height for now. The only time I have had the DW was when I went some where I shouldn't have and turned my steering stabilizer into a horseshoe. I got that fixed and no problems since
