Help! I have a shake that starts about 70 mph. If I speed up or slow down is goes away. Lately I have noticed that is is occuring at around 40 mph too. I never had this problem with the stock tires. But it seemed to be right after I put the Goodyear MTR's on. I thought it was an ot of balance wheel. I have had them in to be balanced 7 times and never any inprovement. The truck only has about 30,000 miles on it. I think the steering stabilizer is starting to go out because I'm noticing more bump steer lately. Has anyone else experienced this? I've read a lot on the death wobble and it seems to be much more severe. Mine just feels like an out of balance or bad tire. Rotation hasn't helped either. I don't get it but it's starting to shake my fillings out! I went with a 305 but it is only "D" rated could the weight of the truck be too much for the tire? Can you get 305 or larger in an "E" rating?

Check your trac bar. At 35k miles I got a new trac bar, drag link, pitman arm, and steering box. Pretty sad quality I know. I added Darins Steering stabalizer it that helped so did the Lindstadt trac bar fix. No more problems.

Took the truck out today and i think the vibe is comming more from the rear. But, it's really hard to tell. How do I check the track bar for wear? And if it is trashed do I go with OEM or is there a better aftermarket one out there?

Get a helper to rturn the steering wheelback and forth while you lay on the ground and look for play in the trac bar ball joint. It is directly above the front differential. Look for play in the steering joints too as well as side to side or up and down movement in the sector shaft in the steering box. If the tracbar is bad, I think the lindstadt fix is the best. I've tried everything else, after market bars, Lukes Link etc. All those didnt work but the Lindstadt fix did work perfectly. Look into Darins Steering Stabalizer too.
