Another Jeep to Cummins

ok..... I have two trucks I dearly love... . one is a 85 dodge crew cab 4x4 the other is a 88 chevy crew cab 4x4... . I have a complete take out 91 cummins with radiator and core support and fuel tanks..... if you were doing the conversion which one would you choose? I'll vote for the Dodge just because it's Dodge.

the a/c won't really matter because more than liklely it will be discharged & a different compressor used. The Dodge would probably be a little easier since the cummins is in one, parts can be bought not built. Good luck whichever you choose.

I am in a similar predicament. I have a 94 2wd ctd, and a 94 3500 4x4 four door conversion truck. I've been thinking about building a chevy with a cummins in it. I was going to sell both trucks, but thought i may as well keep the conv. truck and use the engine, trans and x-fer case out of it rather than sell the truck for $5500. Not sure what i want to do for sure, and dont know what the 2wd would be worth to someone if i sold it.

I went the Chevy route, My M1008 is the same as a SRW K30. I have had more fun with it than my '70 SS Chevelle. Although the Dodge would be easier.

Go with the Chevy. You have more "attention getting power" than with the dodge. All dodge diesels are Cummins. Only special Chevy diesels are Cummins.

If it were me I'd convert the Chevy. I think they are better all around trucks.

JMHO

Good luck with the project
