Decreased exhaust resonance with Dynamat!

John, Circuit City sells 4sqft of Dynamat Extreme for $35. That's $280 for 32sqft. Crutchfield has 36sqft for $260. 20% of 280 is $56, 20% of $260 is $52. I'd suggest you try taking a math class before you question my math.



You need to grow up. Anytime anyone questions anything that you have on your truck (hood, DTT stuff, etc. ), you piss and moan and groan and flame away. I didn't even question Dynamat's quality - I know it's good. And no one else questioned it either. But that doesn't mean something else isn't any good because it's not the most expensive product of its kind that's made. I listen to other people's advice, but not when you try to cram it down my throat - all that does is choke me and make me wanna puke. Just give your opinion and leave it alone. No sense harping on it and ******* everyone off.



Now, flame me all you want. Or you can e-mail me, send me your phone # and I'll call you, whatever . . . I don't want anyone thinking that I'm "hiding behind a screen name".

I have enough left over to complete one of the quad doors. I will do the one on the exhaust side. It was a choice of having enough left over to completely do the back panel and one of the quad doors or just part of the back panel and both of the quad doors. The road noise is so quiet now I do not see how it could improve it. I just installed at DTT exhaust brake and Smart Controller so I have two of the exhaust blankets off at this time. I am waiting for a Boost module and then I will put the blankets back on. The noise is really annoying me with the header and exhaust pipe blanket removed. I can really tell the difference. Wish I could get the Dynamat Extreme all the way up the firewall. Just couldn't get at it and didn't want to rip the whole dash and its contents out.

Well TXRam, sorry if you were personally offended. However, you apparently need to recheck your math... I remember that Summit Racing also sells 36 sq. ft. of Dynamat for approximately the same price Millfly quoted. Let's see, 1/3 of $152. is $50. 66 or in other words, I was correct (or thereabouts in my last post).



My point is this, I have seen so many people bad mouthing Dynamat and the superiority of their product. In each case it's been by someone who has something to gain (financially) by saying their cheaper product is every bit as good as Dynamat at a substantial cost savings. I have heard this mostly from car stereo shops although, others, such as yourself feel the need to do the same without providing a shred of proof to your claim. Also, I wonder how hard it really is to be one of the "other" companies marketing sound damping materials, offering "their new innovations" just after Dynamat releases their latest product... can you spell r-e-v-e-r-s-e e-n-g-i-n-e-e-r-i-n-g? I absolutely depise copycats! With that, I always try to support innovators, not losers who pirate anothers brilliant idea.

Now see where I'm coming from; those of us that choose to purchase a superior product (whether it is worth the additional price or not get tired of insinuations that we are morons for paying too much when a "better" ( ) product is available for substantially less. This statement is not limited to this thread but others in the past such as tires, batteries and a previous thread on sound damping materials just to name several.



TXRam, apparently we differ in our quest to build the perfect Ram. Personally, I've lost track of how many enhancements I've subsequently upgraded to something I've found that was better (in my mind), carefully weighing the cost of my evolving decision however, in the end the better enhancement always prevails (form and function always before price) . This is also pretty much the way I go about everything... always have (and it drives my wife crazy).

John, Again you need to re-read the previous thread. Prior to my "math", the only prices I had were Circuit City and Crutchfield (I even posted those and showed you my math) - even Dynamat's website didn't list the other places that have been mentioned since. So my "math" was correct.



And AGAIN, I can't find where anyone on here, especially myself, said anything derogatory about Dynamat. No one even said it wasn't THE BEST! It was just mentioned that their are OTHER products with LOWER prices, and if we're willing to try them, that's our decision - no one tried to convince you that any one of them was better. I could understand if I said you wasted your money and XXX stuff was 10X better, but I, nor anyone else, did that.



Also, as far as always buying the "original", that's your choice and no one questions that. And I'm not trying to make my truck perfect, just want to improve it for a reasonable price. If Dynamat was the only product, I probably wouldn't even mess with it because I am on a budget.



That's my point - I was a little harsh, so I apologize. But just realize that your goals and others' goals for their truck are alot of times very different.
