I have seen a lot of posts having to do with running boards, versus nerf bars etc. so here is a shot of some Dee Zee extruded aluminum chrome boards from wheel to wheel. I started with just the cab boards but it looked half done to me, so the bed boards just went on. They sure keep the crap off of the truck, and my little one loves getting in by herself. #ad

It took about 12 hours to install, but I am dang picky so it could probably be done in 8hrs or less with an extra hand. I took the time to prime, paint and silicone the holes you have to drill in the bottom edge of the cab (3 per side). The rest of the brackets are supported by the cab mount bolts.

The bed boards are supported by a bracket system screwed to the bed cross beams (no holes drilled in bottom edge of bed). The bed boards gave a little more than I liked so I cut some flat bar and braced it. You can stand anywhere down the lenght of the truck with no give.

I helped a friend install similar boards on 98 brand X and they have never failed and still look good.

Can you send me a picture of the boards up close, I need a set for my brand new 04. My better half is only 5. 1 on her best day and can't jump up into the truck like I do, but thats getting old fast.

Thanks Bill

I put a set of DeeZee Guardians on my 03 and love them. My 5'2" better half likes them even more. Very sturdy, good instructions and a fairly easy install. Took more time to paint them to match than it did to install them!

I bought them at truckaddons.com and they were less than 500. 00 for both sets shipped to my door.

Truckaddons is a place i would not order from again!!!!!

i ordered a set of putco boards from them in sept. ya good price and to my door in a week. well the front boards had like 3" dings in them. so i went threw their process and mailed them back. they got them in the first week in oct. now its ben 2 MONTHS and i have no boards. yea dont think about calling them for something like that because all you get is voice mail and no return calls! so the sales guys say e-mail is the best well once again no return e-mails! so if you deal with them say a prayer that your items come undamged!!!! i guess i got to use to geno's great service and took it for granted that others would be the same. like i said i still have no boards and they have my money.

sorry i had to get that off my chest

The running boards look real good. I have put DeeZee running boards on 4 different vechicles. While they may cost a little more then some other brands, and least you know they will fit becasue they are customized for each vechicle. You don't need to modify them, like you do with some cheaper running boards. KL

I wish I had read your post in more detail! I have my DeeZee boards on now and think they are great, but the box boards move around when I step on them! I see you had to brace yours, but I am going to try and get my money back for mine. Oh well.
