Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) deep transmission pan questions

hi, i want to put on a deep pan for the extra capacity and was thinking about if the filter needs to be droped down or will things be fine the way it is? also anyone tell me if you seen any drop in operating temps?thanks i ll take any info at all . carl

The new deep pan comes with a spacer to lower the filter the proper amount. I haven't towed enough with mine yet to know if it will lower temps but it sure can't hurt!

Helped my friend install his double deep pan for da 48RE. ( Mag-tec). It has a spacer to drop the filter down some. Don't know about the temp difference since he has no temp. gauge as of yet. But adding all the extra quarts of oil and aluminum fins gotta make some awesome difference in temp. Myself got front and rear Mag-tec covers. 6spd. Oh by the way piece of cake install.

I have Mag-Hytec DD pan. More fluid, cooler. Temp is right at 150* pan and 175* hot line not locked up in stop and go traffic. Once locked up the both at 150*.

Just be sure to put a wire disconnect in the pan sensor wiring so you can disconnect it when you drop the pan for fluid changing and cleaning.
