I hope for your and your dealer's sake that no one in the warranty group of FiatChrysler reads this forum. We know that trans_engineer does, but this particular problem doesn't fall in his sandbox.

Rusty

I was thinking that very same thing.......

FiatChrysler installs most dealerships Secure Server, So whatever the dealer states may not be the case, if they use the vehicles VIN # it may be recorded for the entire Warranty Time frame. Fiat Chrysler makes most Dealerships and Techs/SR change passwords routinely.

Do any of the aftermarket tank manufacturers make a bigger tank for your truck? Might be the right time to get a new bigger one!

I have checked with several. So far, nobody makes one, because the def tank is on the end of the main tank, taking up the room they need to get more than a couple gallons extra. That is what I was told by Transferflow on the phone.

I found a tank you can put where the spare tire goes but i can not remember where i saw it…. maybe it was in the Geno's catalog ? I'm not sure as i don't have it with me, my son stole it lol.

Contrary to what some might think the Def at the pumps is usually fresher then the stuff in the containers and a heck of alot cheaper! Just pay attention to what you are doing.

Never said l didn't make a mistake . Made plenty. When l do l try not to compound it with another. Like driving the truck!

Transfer flow, I believe. However, the comment was on replacing the main tank, because they were replacing the main tank due to DEF being put in it. There are NO larger replacements for the main tank, that I am aware of.

I had a nightmare that I misread the pump and put gasoline in the cummins tank.

I was glad when I woke up.

DID THAT at a BP station. The Green handle pump is not for diesel at BP.
I was pulling a 18ft cargo trailer with my 04.5 Ram through SC when I needed fuel. It took 6 gal. before my nose told me I was not pumping diesel.
Called back to dealer in PA and talked to the diesel mechanic, He told me to cram as much diesel into the tank as possible then fill up again after 100 miles.
As it turned out that truck ran great and had the best MPG and performance that I had gotten with the truck.
It ran so great that I got a ticket for doing 86 mph up a hill near the Atlanta race track the weekend of the race.

Friend of mine with a late 90 ' s 12 Valve dumps his 15-40 used motor oil in his fuel tank after running it through a coffee filter. I love my fuel injectors too much to take that risk. I'll just take the spent oil to a recycle facility. But your post about gasoline in the diesel tank has truly taken a huge worry out of my fillups. Lol

As long as you stop in time.
The 6 gal. was about all you could put in the tank and be OK.
