I highly recommend a Defiant light bar Inside my 2001 sport ram, it has reinforcements that the plastic bumper omits. The guys are located in Orange County, Ca.

Huh? You have a light bar inside your Ram? What plastic bumper? Most of the Ram'[s I've seen have plastic covers over the steel bumper.

These are friends of yours, I assume (from prior posts).

The Defiant light bar I've seen for the front of the trucks is nice, but last I've seen it only has tabs for 3 lights, and the ends of the bar aren't bent enough to match the contour of the bumper, causing it to stick out too far. If only it was tucked in more... But that's just my opinion.

I took truck to Paul Fox and he used truck as mold for sport rams.

quality and strenght is amazing. He fabricates to several off road teams and other "diesel" suspension companies rebadging to their companies.

Truly great product

I like it, I would like to see more of how it mounts to the bunper though. Does it bolt to the frame?? or do you just drill some holes in the bumper??

lightbar

lightbar has a bolted on steel reinforcement from both brackets. i'd believe it's 1/4 inch thick plate. everything is powderpainted and grade 8 hardware.

I picked chose red powderpoaint to blend with factory paint. I also chose how many tabs i wanted for my lights. I had them weld three tabs for the 10" lightforce 240 HID's.

Again strenght and quality is what caught my eye and if i sell the truck, everything comes right off leaving no trace i ever had such setup.

Oo.

No... ... ... the Ellis bar uses flat stock for the mounting, where the Defiant uses tubing. The tubing style makes it much stronger.

Bob

Oh ok... so how is the tubing mounted to the truck?

bar

Hola Bob... . nice talkin to you from here.

Bar is bolted to a frame mounted assembly that attaches from each bumper mount. dont remeber exact weight of frame mount but its sturdy enough to attach a tow rope and drag a stuck ford or chevy :)

Looks like a pretty good copy of the Randy Ellis light bar, http://www.randyellisdesign.com/DODGE LIGHT BAR/

Playing the "Copy" card is getting old.

How many ways can a bar be bent to fit on the same chassie? There were light bars available before this decade and the decade before it. The wheel isn't new, shocks have been around for quite some time, leaf springs were here with the cart and buggy guys. They've all had improvements and and leap frogs in technology along the way.

They both look like sturdy products.
