Could someone define the difference between a miss and engine stumble?

I think miss would be a no fire.

Not sure about a stumble?
 
Stumble.

Some of the early Y2K's had eng. stumble, mine was one of them, a stumble feels like you turned the Eng. off for a split second then back on. Had to have the ECM. flashed and no more problem. Hope this helps.
 
Also: the crank sensor caused a friend of mine's y2k 24V to stumble like crazy. All better now with new sensor... .

(The ECM/PCM weren't in agreement with RPM signals. )

A stumble is one "miss". It happens only once in a while. A miss is a bunch of "misses" in a row. At least that's how I understand it.
