I have a question about a stock truck... When it reaches max boost about 19 for a ETC, does the pump defuel?? I was thinking that the wastegage just opened to limit the boost psi??? I know that more fuel creates more boost. Does the pump defuel at 19psi to keep if from over fueling (smoking too much) because the boost psi is being limited by the wastegate??? Someone need to fill in my brain laps today...

Thanks.

Well basically its supposed to work like this..... you run the truck, the wastegate opens and dumps out excess boost at a certain point before reaching the point of defueling, so it "shouldn't" defuel because it should never see the boost that demands it it to defuel.

as far as i know, the ecm will drop fuel by 30 % if boost exceeds 19 lbs. FYI.

Yes, but with the wastegate opening, you never see the "overboost" therefore you don't defuel. If the ECM detects and overboost then yes it would defuel.
