Cost, puff, if it was 10 cents cheaper through a oil change and saved another 10 cents in engine wear through each oil change interval every fleet operator would be using synthetic engine oil. Over the life oil changes and extended engine miles and the number of fleet vehicles would be a nice substantial bonus check for the CEO. LOL.
The only ones running full boutique synthetic oils are the guys with too much money, or too much time on their hands, or they like to experiment, or gainful monetary gain through a legal pyramid scheme, or a combination of such.
With modern non boutique synthetic oils (highly refined hydrocracked synthetic dino oil) useing boutique synthetic oils is a waste of money.
