hey tdr members went to buy pipe from a local auto repair -exhaust shop they told it was not a good idea bad for the valves is this true are they trying to blow smoke up my a***any info thanks John c

I Have Always Had And Average Of 19mpg So I Cant Tell If That Had Anything To Do With It. I Did Notice A Slight Decrease In Egts. Mainly I Gained A Great Sound. Just Make Sure You Put A Tip On And Get It To Exit The Truck A Little Further Or You Will Get A Drone.

The garage was full of it... in a gasser, running without and exhaust will rarely burn a valve (where that old saying came from)... but in a diesel, no problem.

I have ran without a cat for 86k without any issues (other than a heavy right foot to hear it!)... I saw a slight increase in mileage and a slight increase in performance... but I'm not sure if it was the cat, the muffler, or a combination of the two that was the real restriction...

Can't help on the EGTs as I don't have guages.
