I just sold my motorcycle and they would like to know what i ould charge to deliver it. It would be from Loveland, CO to Lockport, IL. It is roughly 950 miles each way. I would be delivering it in my enclosed trailer. I am having trouble coming up with a price for this. Any help would be great. TIA, Scott

950 miles / 15mpg = 63 gallons of diesel x $2. 60 per gallon = ~$164 each way x 2 = $328 in fuel costs

Plus 3-4 days of your time, wear and tear on the truck, 3 nights in a hotel, etc

If it were me, I'd want a minimum of $700

I think they could get it done cheaper with www.forwardair.com, I know half a dozen people or so who have used their motorcycle shipping service and had no complaints. All you have to do is get the bike to DIA and put it in their shipping container.

I've used Forward Air for a few bikes as well and really like their service.

They provide a nice container for shipping and the only thing you need to do is drain the fuel and provide four straps and two locks.

The shipping is relatively quick at 2-3 days and usually doesn't exceed $450.

Good luck!

I just had a company quote moving a car..... they wanted a $1. 50 a mile... . that was one way... on a hauler that could handle 3 cars..... I said thanks and no thanks... as my move is 2500 miles one way... . with that in mind I can take a few days off and do it myself... . and still do it for less... .

I'm guessing that bagd0909dak is very close to being on the money... .
