Delivery times on new builds?

I just ordered a 3500 MC dually Long Horn, about an hour ago. Dealer told me 6-7 weeks. I know things vary quite a bit. I read of someone in another thread having ordered his on Dec 20th, and it's saying about another week. Curious what others have experienced?

Ordered approx Dec. 1, truck arrived Feb. 8, but that included 10 days shipping from DSM to me. It shipped Jan 29. I have spec'd and ordered a ton of vehicles, and it was pretty typical wait time. I waited a bit longer for an '86 F-250 because they ran out of NP435 trannys.

That's good to hear... so it sounds like we're looking 4-5 weeks, instead of the 6-7. I'll expect the longer, and hope for the shorter.

Ordered 12-2-14 won't be in until around 2-28-15. That's nearly 13 weeks!

That's bums me out a bit seeing as it sounds like my truck is identical to yours. There's only one option I didn't get, the CD player. I didn't because I have a new Durango with the DVD entertainment system, which puts the DVD player in exactly the same spot and I was disappointed at how much of the center compartment it took.... so on my Ram I decided to skip the CD since I'll literally never use it.

Build time was less than 30 days, Transport time was 5 weeks. I have connections and was able to track it. From Saltillo, Mexico it was on 5 different rail cars (Saltillo>Austin, TX>New Orleans, LA>Jacksonville, FL>Atlanta, GA>Winston Salem,NC). Then on a truck to dealer. That was shipping to North Carolina.
It's worth the wait to get exactly what you want!

when I ordered my wrangler, the salesman I worked with knew I needed it on a schedule, and I've worked with him on a few vehicles orders and leases before.
So he was able to tell me what paints were being run at that time, and said could be as little as 4wks, or as much as 7wks.
If I had checked off another paint color, and it wasn't being run in the next month of two, it would be an untold wait.

As well, another problem I was warned about, is how they come off of the mass transport and into the holding yard/pen.
The first off, is put near the back of the pen.
the last off, at the front of the pen, and gets taken out and transported first.
If a few keep getting left at the back of the pen, it could get stuck with an untold delay.

The tracking for my last wrangler I ordered, was available on a Jeep website.

I ordered my 2012, June 15, 2012. I took delivery Aug. 17, 2012. Yes, the wait can seem like forever. But the day you drive that 'BRAND' new truck home, the time waiting seems to quickly disappear. No one has test drove it, no lookey loos in & out of YOUR brand new truck. I too, am in the Mid West. Best wishes, congrats on your order, and don't drive yourself to crazy waiting.

1/19/15 - Ordered truck
1/30/15 - Called today and was told I was in D1 status and the ship date is 2/9/15. (man it must sit in customs for a LONG time)
2/13/15 - Ram said my truck is in IL and target delivery date is 2/26/15. 5 week turn around from order.
2/26/15 - Truck hit the dealers lot, picking up tomorrow.

5 WEEKS from order to delivery.

They went down and picked mine up yesterday nearly 13 weeks after ordering it. Then they said can you come in right away this afternoon? I said I would get to it in the next three days! Why hurry now?

Probably will pick up tomorrow.

Left Rapid City SD 9am Wednesday and made it to NW WA 9am Thursday. 1,300 miles in 22 hours with two one hour nap stops.

Picking up 15 tomorrow in Seattle. This coming Tuesday will be 13 weeks!

New MS not until mid April then head to MayMadness!
