I 'm Bombing a 94' truck with a 5 speed (175 hp when stock) that already has a #5 plate. The owner wants to upgrade to the 370 injectors. The truck has 181 delivery valves, will these delivery valves work ok with the 370 injectors? Or will the 191 delivery valves be need to avoid the stumble around 1100-1200 rpm? TIA

I assume the 181 D-Valves were previously insatlled in the truck.

The stock 215 D-Valves (052 181's) are usually fine for the 370's. Although there have been a few members that have posted that the 181 D-Valves didn't work out well with their 370's. Only one or two that I can think of. Some guys are running the 370's with stock 180 D-Valves (052 161). But you never know, my stock 180 pump had 215 (181) D-Valves.

The truck was stock until a few months ago when I started working on it. No one had been into the pump, it still had the unmarred factory piaint. When I set the timing up to 15* it was noted that the delivery valves were stamped with 131 or 181, couldn't tell even with a magnifying glass. Since I've never heard of a 131 delivery valve I assumed the stamping was 181. Is this the normal size for a 94' 5 speed?

I just installed 370s in my 94 5 speed with #8 plate and original delivery valves. No problems at all. I think the automatics have the problem with stumble.

My 95 5 sp has a little stumble at about 12-1300 rpm with the BD injectors they said when I bought them that the DV would need to be changed just never did it how intence of a project is it to replace them I would like to put a set of Piers High-flows in but haven't researched the instillation that much.

many reasons possible

There could be many reasons for the stumble and rough idle and other problems ,

Some things to think about:

Your so called NEW injectors pop off pressure vs the originals, the wear in the pump itself such as del valves, return springs, barrels and plunger wear, and the pressure regulator spring just to name a few.

R. ebel,

160 and 175 HP trucks come stock with 131 delivery valves. Not much visual difference between 131's and 181's compared side by side. The 191's are way different and capable of much more fuel.

Your eyes didn't deceive you, they do exist! :)

131!!!?? Man, it's time for some 231's (if such a thing exists... ) on my truck... . I had no idea I had DV's that small.
