Converting Gas eng to diesel

Excursion + Cummins 12 valve + Allison 1000

Dovebid.com is having a auction on delivery vans and it is ending at 1 pm pacific time. they feature hurcules dt3. 7, isuzu 6DB1(don't know much about this engine, but think it might compare to a cummins 6at3. 4l), and B3. 9 cummins.

any way to tell which transmission is behind the engines in these? Too bad I'm just not ready for another project. Those prices look great.

damn, they don't list the transmissions used! Those prices look pretty good, but I could easily wind up spending more for a flywheel, flexplate, and bellhousing than the cost of most of those vans. argh, decisions, decisions...

I read through several and saw a couple with specific info on the TH400 transmission. Said things like needs work or Fresh TH400.

Thanks for the heads up. I've never seen that site before.

Anyone have any experiance with buying and shipping sight unseen and long distance? Cost, hassles etc?

I do have some time off coming, I suppose I could drive down and buy a trailer to get it home.

Thanks, Jeff

Specifically anyone bought anything through dovebid?

Lots of requirments to buy from here. Insurance on carriers etc... .

For the fair running on i payed 800 plus 16% commission, the other one smokes and I payed 500 plus 16% commision.

I'm going to try and pick them up next week. I have a nv4500 that I'm going to use so I don't really know about the trannies.

Sorry, I'm picking them up in Oakland.

I was timking about taking our gooseneck flatbed but it rides bad and it might be easier to rent a bumper pull trailer from u-haul.

no running trucks in texas

They are having another auction today, but all of the trucks in texas are described as "vehicle not running". bummer.

On the other hand, the "core" charge for a new 4BT was around $2,500 last time I checked, and some of those trucks in san antonio are still going for $800...
