Attention: TDR Forum Junkies I use synthetics in other applications, I run Polaris 0W-40 synthetic in all my small stuff around here. Lawn mowers, atv's, power washer, air compressor. . etc... I can honestly see where it helps the little engines. As for my particular situation with my Dodge, synthetic oil just isn't cost effective. I'm not going to run the oil beyond 5K miles, and even if I was, I wouldn't run the oil filter beyond that. If you're already under there changing the filter, might as well pull the plug.
As for Royal purple, to each his own... . But you that you will never find ANY Royal Purple products in ANYTHING I own. I have seen several catastrophic diesel engine failures from that product.

. Ive had it in (Royal Purple) now for over 50k. Excellent oil, very stable, high TBN, and no loss to evaporization.
