What are you using in the 07 back, now that they have changed to the low emisons oil. Or is the new stuff as good for our trucks.

Consensus is that the CJ oils are good, but you need to change them more frequently. If you read the TDR oil study, the Delo 400 LE came in dead last.

I still use Delo 400, and for the same reason I used it before... I like the pretty blue bottle. Life is too short for me to fret about using an approved oil in my truck.

If you look around at Sam's Clubs you may be able to find some left over CI-4 Delo 400. I bought the last two cases here in Charleston, and they had them marked down to $37. I now have enough to get me past the 100k mile mark.

Later ;)

If you want Delo 400 CI-4 go to your local oil distributer. You can get all you want in 5 gal buckets.

I use it in my 93 with 257k on it and my 04. 5 with 80k. Wallmart and autovalue near us have it.

There are several differant types of Delo 400. Delo 400 LE is CJ-4+ and has very little zinc, calcium and phosphates. Delo 400 off road 15-40W is CI-4 and has a additive package that's heavy in zinc, calcium and phosphates. CI-4 oil is readily available from any heavy equipment or tractor dealer and I bet soon from the Ford dealers with the new heavy dutys having urea injection instead of DPFs.
