Hopefully this does not set off another oil war. I am seeking informed and unbiased opinions and experiences with these products. 15w40 is the viscosity of choice. I do not believe that Premium Blue Extreme or Delo Syn. have application in north Texas. I drive conservatively 60 miles round trip to and from work daily-all highway, with moderate towing on weekends--load weights not exceeding 16k lbs. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am new to owning a CUMMINS, have driven 5 or 6 in the past.

THANKS

Drew you can't go wrong with Delo, Premium Blue, Delvac 1300, or Rotella T. Enjoy your new rig!
I agree with lightman 300. All the oils he listed are good choices. I have used the delo 400 in my 2004 since new,no issues yet. Good luck on your choice. coobie :)

I have tried Delo, Delvac, and Rotella, the Delo has the least smell, other than that I do not think there is much of difference between the three, all very good oil.

I've used Delo for 107K miles, no problem. I get it at Costco, 6 gallons at a time for about $32 or so. That's good for about 2 changes with some left over.

I like the premium blue because it has the Cummins logo on it, lol.

Oh, have never noticed any odor either.

I'm sure they all do the job, buy what you can at the best price and be happy!
