This might upset you, like it did me.

What I really don't understand is that idiotic statement of Daschle's that the tax cut helped to induce an economic downturn. HOW THE HECK DID A TAX CUT CAUSE A RECESSION????????? Let's see, I got an extra $600 of my hard earned dollars back from the government. I wasn't planning on having this $600, so what to do with it? Well, SPEND IT, of course! Or maybe pay off a bill or two, which will allow me to purchase something else. That statement of Daschle's is so patently stupid, I can't imagine being anybody that voted for that idiot. And he wants to be President? OH MY GAWD!

Bush got my vote, and is now the Commander and Chief... . I am so glad Algore was not allowed to continue the Clinton administration. I hope New York does not re-ellect HRC. UGH... . Democrat logic is a exhausting as Women and their circular logic.

I DO, I DO.

My $300 would have been better used in some welfare program where some Fat Cow and her 8 kids could use it to go buy beer for the lazy SOB looser live in Boyfriend that sits and watches Jerry Springer and Ricky Lake all day instead of going out and getting a job.

How is that explanation... ... . hehe

:D :D :p :)

I hung in there as long as I could with the Democratic party. They ain't what they used to be. Now we have the Republicans who represent corporate America and the Democrats who represent welfare recipients. Corporate America is where my paycheck comes from as an hourly wage earner. Welfare maggots are taking earnings out of my paycheck. Not to sound cold but, If I didn't make dat baby, I ain't dat baby daddy and I ain't responsible for dey child supoat. I have two kids that I'm responsible for and I haven't faltered yet. My tax "refund" was spent on this here laptop I'm using. Thanks George! I earned it.

Next to A/hole in the dictionary is a picture of Tom Daschle. No definition needed.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the $600 'refund' I received just a 'loan' against my '01 taxes? Honestly, I would have rather the govt NOT issued these refunds if I'm correct - it will cost me more in the end.

I work with some nice guys, but being that I'm in a union, 99% of my co-workers are democrat. According to them, only idiots like me voted Mr. Bush in. The way they think is that if they have to pay $250 less in taxes this year, that's giving $350 to the government because they got the $600 refund the year before. What kind of logic is this? Kind of like how Slick Willy and his dummies would plan on spending $500 million more on some program next year. Instead they only use $450 million. Oh look, a $50 million spending cut! What ever. Then, since they have extra money, they give it to some lazy slob who won't get up off their rear and support themselves. Why should they, it's easier just to do nothing and let me support them. URRRGH.

I think I gave myself a headache. :)

God Bless America and Mr. Bush for doing a job that Algore would have chickened out on and let the taliban scum get away with what they did.

BTW, the $300 I got back was included in the $30,000 I pumped into the economy when I bought my truck. :D

stevem: glad somebody else in the sunshine state shares my view. i hear all the statements about "the children will suffer, why punish the children for the sake of the parents". frankly, the more we hand out the more we reinforce the view that goes something like this: with the handouts all we do is reinforce negative behavior, reinforce the attitude of cry poor me, poor me and some bleeding heart will send cash!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????? i admit our motorcycle group does community stuff but we almost never give cash and attempt to prescreen those who receive gifts of our generosity. a couple of years ago we gave fixins for thanksgiving dinner. went to one place saw a huge big screen tv, gold around the neck, smelled pot and a fancy car in the driveway. i left!!!!!!!!!!!! bruce

Gotta love it.

Excellent! I don't really care if people want to be Democrats or Republicans. Most of my views are in line with the Republican party, but not all. What I cannot stand is STUPIDITY and GULLIBILITY! The problem is, this country is full of both stupid and gullible people. Politicians, both Republican and Democrat, use this stupidity to further their cause. But, as I align more with the Republicans, I generally accept their attempts to achieve their goals. Typically, they don't pander to the idiots as much as the Democrats do.

If I hear another bogus story of "this will hurt the children" I'm going to go postal! Making it OK for parents to blame anybody and everything but themselves for their poor parenting skills is the true enemy of the United States. People need to be held accountable for their actions, all of them. Government should provide a basic infrastructure, but nothing more. Government has become way too fat at all levels, Local, Regional, State and Federal.

As for the $600 refund, yes it is an advance on your 2001 taxes. But, wouldn't you rather decide how to spend that $300 or $600 instead of the government? I sure would. My estimated taxes for 2001 are going to top $20,000!!!!!!! HOLY COW!!!!!!! I'm going to pay more in taxes than some people make in a year. That almost buys me a new truck. So, because my wife and I make a decent living, I'm obligated to help those that don't, can't or won't get a job through the government? No, charity starts at home, and government should not be involved.

The percentage of Republican union members is alittle more than 1%... After slick Willy smoothed us over for 8 years, it's more like 37%. There was no talk about candidates at the union hall during the last election. It would have been an explosive issue between the die hard democrats and those of us with open eyes. We received no literature for or against either party this time around. It was a quiet time for personal reflection. Our union will survive Bush and the country will be better off without Clinton or Algore. Unions absolutely must have a healthy corporate America to survive and corporate America absolutely must have qualified labor to survive. Neither should abuse the other without causing self inflicted wounds. Nor should a union be a shelter for unqualified labor. We have a good working relationship between our union and company with no strike since '72. I've never even seen a greivance. I can't ask for better than that.

Steve M,

Are you the guy we "discussed' politics with before the election?

Long time no see! Where you been? Counting votes?LOL!

Our Union PUSHED AND PUSHED Gore right up to the day before the election. Sending propaganda stateing,"GORE DOES NOT WANT YOUR GUNS, BUT BUSH WANTS YOUR JOB. " Please! LMFAO!!

After the election, Our General President backed Bushes energy plan BIG TIME. You guys know the one, the one Daschle shelved because it would pass.

It would create jobs and help get us out of the recession, and we all know the Demos don't want that.

It gave me hope, that our Union was not as corrupt as I thought it was.

I believe that most people are glad the election turned out the way it did. At least the Americans are.

If Bush can win the Unions over, he will be unstoppable.

Unless somebody fixes the election even better than he tried last time. They will learn from their mistakes, and not get caught so much this time. Gore and his ilk should be in jail. Down to every last fraudulent vote counter. And the multiple voters.

Excellent excellent post Steve M. A man after my own heart. I was union but now am not, I didn't quit but changed jobs. I have no problem with a person being fired for not doing their job. It burns my butt to see a union stick their neck out when after an exhaustive investigation of the situation they continue to try to protect the guilty party. I believe that all firings must be completely and thoroughly investigated by the union. If at such time it is clear that the member was in the wrong, well sorry buddy, you are on your own. If managment stepped over the line then by all means necessary, help the person out.

And yes there are some in managment that believe that they walk on water. They rule the roost at home so by god when I come to work you better behave like kids. These types just force me to dig in my heels even more. Either treat me like a man or just steer clear.

Steve M, in my case there was probably 25 or so of us at my job at the time of the election and I was the only one who voted for Mr. Bush. I got crap in the mail telling me who to vote for. I go to scholl one night a week for 4 hours, and for about 2 months at least 1 hour a night was used to bash Bush. I don't dislike someone for their political views, if I did I would'nt like just about everybody I work with, but it chaps my hide when I'm told who to vote for.

As far as the union goes, after I finish school, I'm gone. I don't know about your union, but mine only cares about $$$$$. I'm tired of paying dues on top of dues. Crappy health insurance for $2. 65 an hour. I could keep on going on, but I'll spare everybody.

Hey MGM,

Yeah it's me. I had a hanging chad I needed to have corrected. I haven't been too far away. Just avoiding the hysteria. New truck, new Durango, new laptops, new 5th wheel and same old Harley.

I hate to read about unions that abuse their power. They're not all like that and I'm aware of the ones that are. Abuse of power is not what a union is for. Collective bargaining and fair representation is. We make good money with excellent benefits and the company is making record profits. Without a good union/company relationship, both suffer.

As far as the the Democrat/Republican issue goes, I can't figure out how any hard working person, like most of the people on this board, can support a Democratic cannidate. I am self employed and I work my @ss off to pay too much taxes for these stupid liberal programs. Democrats like BIG government, BIG government costs BIG money.

Now unions, I think that they are obsolete. Unions were originally formed to protect the worker from unfair working enviroments, abuse and poor pay in the coal industry, steel industry, rail industry, auto industry, mining industry, etc. , etc. , etc. Today the union protects the screw off that doesn't want to work or what ever else by making it nearly impossible for their employer to fire them, not to metion the outrageous union dues and sometimes salaries that raises the cost of business which increases the prices of their products and it ends up moving jobs out of the country. I wonder why most of our trucks are built in Mexico?

I guess that explains why my truck was so cheap compared to the ones built here in the states.

Since all unions are as you descride in your narrow minded generalization, does that mean all corporations are like Enron?

SOME Unions are changing for the better. Our Union pushes us to make our selves employable. Instead of specializing in just a few areas, educate ourselves to cover many.

Belive me, you still need the Unions to protect us from dangerous work conditions, because Lord knows, you'll be long dead before OSHA ever sends somebody out.

I need the back up when an idiot foreman wants something done dangerous, I can tell him to stick it.

And hey, my truck was built in Mexico, yet it cost the same as the ones in St Louis. Care to explain where the $25 dollar an hour savings in labor went???

Anyone?

How about explaining where the MILLIONS of savings in NO EPA regulations went?

I saw more people fired from a Union job in 3 months than I ever did non-union. You have to produce these days, or your history.
