Don't forget about your air source when away from home!

Bicycle pump behind the seat doesn't count. :) I priced these things out a while back, and they were in the $1500 range. Just for the starter, but I didn't scrounge around like some of the masters of the TDR can. At work we have 6 emergency generator Alco V-18 diesels with 4 air start motors each and also a turbo-air assist motor that combined, sound like the hounds of hell when they light off. "FEET DON"T FAIL ME NOW", even when you're expecting it. Used for station black-out event.

35 years ago I used to drive a Mack B61 "horse", pulling a construction trailer, that had an air starter. Sometimes I brought it home and my neighbor across the street threatened to have me arrested. Guess it was a little intimidating at 5:30am?

I thought it was pretty neet and it was rare for my area in CT.

I worked for Roadway Express for 27 years and thats all they used. They even have a muffler on the starter to reduce the noise when using it. Sometimes I would get a tractor without a starter muffler and you wouldn't believe the looks you would get when you would start it up. Scare the heck out of some people!!!!!

I want one too! I want it to be my start up sound when I start my computer! :-laf That way when people want to use it, I'll make sure it's off then they can turn it on, and I can watch from around the corner as they jump into orbit!! :D
