Well, not exactly. That's because Layne has moved to Grand Junction, CO. So maybe now it's Grand Junction Off-Road??

Anyhow, here's the latest on Layne's bumpers. He now ships them all with the grille guard-- brush guards are optional. (I dunno if it was always this way). Shackle brackets are standard, as always.

The coating he is now using is some new kind of process that he wouldn't say much about. All he said was that the coating is 10 times tougher than powder coat, and Mercedes uses it on some of their most upscale models for exterior "paint".

He no longer offers the brushed clear coat finish-- the clear just wasn't as tough as he would like.

Anyway, here is Layne's new number:

970-858-4010

He's waiting on a welder to get repaired, and then production will be back up and running. All the stuff is cut out, just not welded:)

I was impressed with him on my first call, and there's no doubt in my mind that if I get a FER bumper, Layne is the man who will sell it to me.

His bumpers are awesome! I got mine in February 2003, installed it all by myself. It is really beefy and built like a bank vault.

I'm on the list. :D

I've been patiently waiting for my bumper for a while now. I called Layne yesterday to check progress and spoke with him for quite awile, real standup down to earth friendly guy. I've got a big road trip ahead and have been trying to get a DOR bumper installed before I go. Good things are worth waiting for and a DOR bumper is one of em.

I've had mine installed since July of 2001.

LOVE IT!!! Oo.

Glad to see he's still belting those bumpers out.

I have the brush clearcoat and have to say Layne's right. Not terribly durable however withthe brush finish you never notice if you scratch it. A real plus. With the age of my bumper and the wet and salty roads of New England. I can see a little Aluminum corrosion where the water is starting to get under the finish. Ill just have to plan for a redo in a couple of years. It will last till then.

I'm not worried though when your bumper is built like a Brick it tends to be as areodynamic as one. ;) I almost would ask Layne to rename his bumpers Bug and Deer Killers :D
