A while back I started a little company called Desert Racing Concepts. We upgrades for the 2nd and 3rd gen truck in the area of desert and off road. Our stuff is made to compliment others efforts like T. Rex engineerings radical suspension. We make a Bumper/ lightbar, Airbox with a foam filter, and I am working on some custom trick off-road motor mounts.

The reason I am posting about this is: On June 5th Kent from T. Rex fame, took one of my bumpers into the brutal terrain of Baja California. He was running the Baja 500 in a stock Dodge 2500 with a Cummins. His suspension was slung underneath, a full cage was built, Banks gave him some power, and I took on the task of designing a bumper that would hole up. Well it did. He put it to the test for us and it came out with flying colors. He had used it as a jack point ( not an intended use) push bar, tow bar ( not intended) skid plate, and a couple of others I may forget to mention. Well it came out without any cracks or breaks. I tried to get it back to hang on the wall, with an offer of a new one, and Kent said he's not taking it off of his truck. We are real happy with his response. See us in the Sept issue of Four Wheeler.

Thanks Greg

Greg,

Do you have any pics. of that DRC air box?

Soon Blake,

It is an aluminum box, tig welded. Looks like the others but has a foam filter. Still working out the details on the filters but it should be ready by Sept. 1, 2004. It will take the industry standard of a 4" inlet on the filter so you will be able to just replace the filter on your AFE or K&N.

Thanks, Greg

Cool, looks like someone else is running the Hella Rallye 4000s

I'm running two cornering versions on a Bull Bar, love em...

For the money, the Rallye 4000's are the best. Only topped by the HID's from Hella. I run the flood in the center and the spots on the side. Great combo...

Hey tony,

I got one for ya sitting here with lights..... It might end up on my truck. I wanted to go but the business end of things wont let me go yet. I have been bribing him for a week with no response.

Brian,

I decided to ditch the tow hooks. They are pretty useless and you cant even get a chain hook through them. The bumper is much stronger and looks much better. I designed it to indestructable and it is. All of the angles are well thought out and engineered to withstand the rigors of Baja California. Trees, rocks, bushes and even donkeys don't stand a chance against this thing. I run one on my truck and Kent Kroeker of T-Rex fame runs one on his truck. Call him and ask how tough it is.

Thanks, Greg[/IMG]#ad

This is an early design that I had. We went with a but joint for strength and eliminated the bent tubing too. A bend in a piece of tubing is a failed tube. Miter cuts and tig welding give it unbelievable strength.
