I just completed installing a 12cm2 wastegated exhaust housing on my '92 First Generation W-250 and notice my compressor side of the turbo stated it was a model "HIC".

Is the design differences between the "HIC" and the "HX35"?

I gave my oem 12cm2 wastegated exhaust housing to a client of ours to try. He has a "93 which I believe had a 18 housing on it. The feedback is all thumbs up. He hasn't had it on any trips yet but around town the response is much better. I guess the drivability improvment is a no-brainer, but my thought is regarding the size. It seems to me that purchasing a 16cm2 housing is not going to be rewarding, to small a change. This has been confirmed by a few people who have done just this. Knowing the trucks have had 12cm2 housings since "94 speaks to me. I bet Ted will concur.

Now I need to find that pump adjustment to give the "93 a tad more fuel #ad

Guys,
I have posted this question on the right number of valves forum, but since I found this thread I am going to ask it again. Has anyone thought about splitting the exhaust and using two HX-35/19cm turbos for boost? I'm thinking two intercoolers with a stagger mount to allow hose connection, a Banks twin ram, split to allow two inlet connections. With dual 3" exhausts to help control EGT's. Any imput would be apprediated as I don't fully understand the dynamics of turbocharging, as in ratios of volume of air as opposed to pounds of pressure, turbo size in relation to turbo lag and its effect on performance.

Don.
