Trailer Brake Fuse Blew Again

Now the truth comes out. You went looking for a storm so you could risk your family's life and roll the truck and 5er just so you could get a new MC. Pretty shrewd. Glad you're OK, really.

If only i thought of that sooner..... i could have emptied the trailer of the months worth of personal possessions, removed all my parts from the truck and done it right.

Im sooooooo tempted to drive down for the court apperance just for another chance to tell that rookie POS excuse for an officer what i think of him. JA would not know what to do with a real criminal.

You have got to go!?

If it is anywhere near as bad as you described (from the photos its pretty bad).

Frustration on my end... ... ...

I REALLY hope all works out well. Some of it probably wont (insurance reality).

Lots of emotion envolved here.

Keep us posted.

Best Regards,

AJ

I'll be honest i've never towed a fifth wheel, only bumper pulled and that was enough to make me to never want to tow with anything but a dually. Sorry if i jumped to conclusions on my jump to conlusions mat. :)

Glad to hear everyone made it OK with the exception of some emotional trauma, my wife want to know if you found the ring??

Well kind of... . she had a two piece ring the center solitaire and a wrap on the outside which was two smaller diamonds, one from each of our mothers wedding rings with two smaller rubbies on each side of each diamond. Ruby is her birth stone. I had it made 9yrs ago.

I found the important part, the wrap with our mothers' stones, but the solitaire is gone.

She wanted a new one anyway... ... . she probaly lost the center stone weeks ago and didn't tell me ;)

This is the wife... I did not lose the solitare weeks ago... it was all together. Thank your wife for her concern. It is really nice of her.

OUCH! :--) I'm lucky my wife thinks I'm nuts for using the computer as much as I do. She hates it! Doesn't even look over my shoulder. Did show the family the pics. Answered the kids' question of why they can't ride in the trailer! That's the silver lining, at least for me.

My wife had the same question about the ring. I'll pass on the answer, or let her read it here.

Don't forget to file an insurance claim on the ring, either using the truck/trailer insurance or homeowner's policy as appropriate.

Jason, glad everybody is ok! Your 5 yr old should have some interesting stories to tell his classmates. Happy to hear the Lab is alright too, I have a couple of yellows myself.

well I figure it would cost me atleast $300. 00 in gas/food and hotel... ..... the ticket is $102. 00 plus traffic school... ... and two days of long driving.

Kind of a push if I beat the ticket, which is probally a long shot.

But it would be nice to say a couple of choice words to ofc??????. (cant even read his name on the ticket). He knew he was wrong and did not want his name on it. Well mr badge # 6214 I hope you slept well that night.

I'll never understand a womens thinking process  My fiance was also wondering about the ring of all things lol

Anyways glad you guys are all ok, The big man upstairs was defenitly watching over you and your little ones. I agree with Klenger, get the 3500. They have the same ride as the 2500 but the 3500 has overloads for better load capacity not to mention higher resale value.

Well Im waiting to find out what the two insurance companies are going to offer me for the truck and trailer. They moved the truck to New Mexico where the apraiser i supposed to have looked at it on friday.

The trailer adjuster was pretty good so far. He just wanted the pictures i took and the original sales invoice. He supposed to be getting back to me with an offer.

I found the truck i want to buy pretty close to me and am pretty confident i can get a good price, but i have to wait until i hear from the truck insurance to confirm it's totaled.

I guess im going to file a claim with the homeowners for the ring and the two page list of household items destroyed or lost from the trailer. They promised since it occurred outside the home it would not effect my rates. Well see

Wow man! It's a sad day when any of our members are in a wreck. I'm glad to hear everyone involved is ok.

Man after reading about that cop... . I'm glad the cops around here are pretty good. Although my roommate must have a "pull me over" sign on his rear end!

Say no to homeowners.

Sure sorry to hear of your misfortune but glad everybodys safe and back home. I'd be reluctant to file a claim with your homeowners insurance. They'll flag your policy and home with an "high risk" judgement. My AAA guy told me to increase my deductable and to never make a claim until it hit the big dollars for just this reason. My sister who just retired from State Farm told me the same story. Anybody buying a home be sure and check out the claim history of the prior owner(s). The history follows the house to its grave. Natural disasters and mold claims etc. have really put a dent in the insurance industries profits and they're looking to recoup the damage. Sorry for the attitude of the P. O. S. officer. It's more reason for you to set a positive example in your area to offset this behavior. I really respect peace officers but a few bad eggs make it hard on the rest of you guys.

Hey Dude sorry to hear about your mishap... ... . you might think on getting a dulley for your next puller. the extra tires sure help on keeping the rig stable. Our lord was sure with you guy's. Harv

Really sucks on the ring man. I sure am glad my wife doesnt like diamond rings! She refused to get one, so all she has is a <$100 titanium band for a ring. Its what she wanted, and thats what she got, if she lost it, she would feel bad, BUT, she would just tell me to buy her a new one.

I am surprised that you could even file the loss of the items in the trailer to your home owners. Seems that Auto Ins should have to cover it, but then again, i dont understand Insurance Companies some days.

The DPS officers along I-40 in AZ are completely amazing. Earlier this year, two guys I work with were killed in a car accident just to the west of Two Guns. Truck veared off the highway and rolled about 200 yards. About a week after the accident one of the families when to see the crash site. While there, a DPS officer pulled over and asked what they were doing. After he received their story, he wrote them a ticket for littering(because of the mess from the crash) and tampering with evidence(for picking up some of their sons belongings). Can you believe these a-holes?

Like 231jasonS said, it's reasons like this cops get shot.

ok, yeah, I suppose a ticket for evidence tampering..... I'll bite a tinny piece on that. But if the cops, after a week didn't get all their evidence, then it's their problem that it's not properly guarded.

As for the cleaning. Do these cops smoke crack before their shift?
