Kev, I can and will tell you from experience, it is an awsome product. There are a few manufacturers and I am sure they are all good. There is a company that makes a Poly Clay(?) that is supposed to be even easier and better. I found it once by searching "detailers clay" on baldey. ixquick.com
I used Meguires on my truck. I had sprayed my deck with Deck stain and the light breeze carried it all the way around the house and covered my truck, My dark garnet red pearlcoat was brown. Really brown:{ I went to Smitty's Auto paint supply and he sold me some DuPont 3812s Enamel reducer, Meguires Detailing clay and two spray bottles of Meguires Finale inspection. I bought a bundle of white cotton terry towels from Costco and went home to start cleaning. Working one section at a time, nothing bigger than a front fender, I wiped the area down with the Reducer. It won't harm a factory finish (always test a small inconspicuous area first etc. etc. ) It removed most of the overspray but not all and the paint felt rough and gritty as it always does right after a wash. Then, following the instructions, I worked the clay into a flat patty, sprayed the surface and the patty with the Final isnspecton and, in straight lines, I rubbed the painted surface very gently with the clay being sure the surface stayed well lubricated. It was EASY. Then when the clay felt like it was sliding real easily againsed the paint, I knew it was clean. Just wipe the paint down with a clean dry towel and apply a good quality wax. No need for a polish. The clay does more than a polish and is non-abrasive!

It works amazingly well. It is so easy that I will Clay before I wax every time. The McGuires came with two bars and I went through 1 and a half due to the severity of the job. By the way, that was for my truck and my next door neighbors Dodge Durango

. Lukily he was nice about it and even helped with the work. We cleaned and waxed his little truck in 4 hours. I can't say enough about claying your vehicle. You will never go back to just a wash and a wax. It also makes the Waxing part easier because the wax doesn't hang on all the impurities in the paint that washing doesn't remove. Have I convinced you yet? Shall I keep going?
