Diesels and obsessive compulsive disorders

Had a chance to go to the Detroit Auto show, Dodge had a nice display. I did get to see a cut-a-way of Cummins engine, new PSD, and the Duramax. They had 4 3/4 and 1 tons on display, both one tons were CTD while the 3/4 were new hemis. Dodge truck display was the best of any auto maker present!!

They did not have anything other than hand out info on the new auto trans. (I wanted to see that).

Had an article in the paper yesterday, and one part was that car manufacturers spend more on advertising than they do on the manufacturering costs of vehicles:eek:

So wonder how much these shows/displays and the TV advertising which everyone believes and causes us all to run out and buy the latest product (you know the HP wars, drag racing with trailers/drag chutes, towing ice breakers, Mayor of *****ville, etc. ) contribute versus the price wars they have to do every now and then, but the costs of a vehicle keeps going up.

Maybe we now know, but can you believe everything you read in a newspaper cause they have more to spend on research as they do not have to pay for makeup people like they do on TV ?

Wonder what would happen if the advertising budget went towards warranty work or even towards real world research so the warranty issues (lift pumps, KDP, steering, etc. ) were a minimum:mad:
