the 235 HP 4 Liter CRDI engine with VNT turbo in a Dakota? DC you listening??!

Detroit Diesel/VM Motori engines
Notice the first group is IDI 2 valve/cycl, then later DI 4 valve/cyl, some
with S. O. H. cams and later on Dual OH cams.
They are mostly inline engines, but last ones are V-6's and have a VNT as an option.
