So, who is there and what is happening?

We are up in Colorado bulding parts for next year. Tell me someone is there going real fast. Please?

Well... We (the Hot Rod Diesels bunch) took 1st and 2nd in the E/T Bracket class :D

JVolpe, took 1st in his 04. 5, and Curtis (Gitchesum) took 2nd place in Pam's (MDW's wife)truck.

I am sure Curtis will make a complete post with all of the details.

Well I have had the best two days of the year so far. Yesterday's pre DHRA World Finals party at Diesel Innovations was just great. Met great guys that I have been reading about for two years now. Truck dyno'd 522/930 with my triple stack. Food was fantastic, beer was cold and the trucks on that parking lot were awesome all day and night.

As for today, thanks to Michael and Curtis of HotRodDiesels.com, I won the ET Bracket Class at DHRA World Finals at HRP. Couldn't have done it without them both. Thanks guys, I will post more tomorrow. Been a long couple of days and I am kicking back with a beer and relaxing.

Well David lost the title of worlds "quickest" power stroke, but ran a 124mph in one run, so he is still the fastest.

Darren won the Pro Street class with a 10. 5 against Jeff Prince that ran a 10. 7 in the simi, and then beat Stucky's thanks to them breaking on the line in the finals.

Great times!!

Pro Street was won by Darren Morrison in the black single cab 4wd Dodge. Truck runs Awesome  .

Here is the break down by rounds: (I may not get names completely right)

Round 1:

Jeff Garmon in the Garmon Diesel/Chicago Pneumatic Dodge loses to Jeff Prince in the Prince Brothers Performance Dodge. I apologize for not getting Mr. Garmons time (I think it was a 10. 91, but stand to be corrected) to a personal best for Mr. Prince of 10. 74.

Next up was the green and black dodge of Mr. Stucky (did not catch his first name) against the TS performance Dodge (did not get the drivers name). The Lime Green dodge of Mr. Stucky takes the win over the TS performance Dodge. Did not get a time on the Stucky Dodge, but he was #2 Qualifier, and I personally say a 10. 96 during qualifying. The TS Performance truck was having problems today. Not sure exactly what, it was leaving HARD then coughing and choking out near the 330. It backfired so hard one time it rattled the stands  . Even though they were having problems during qualifying, they hung in there trying to work the bugs out and putting on a show for the crowd. Way to go guys.

Darren Morrison gets the bye as he was #1 Qualifier (at 10. 51 I believe).

Round 2:

Darren Morrison against Jeff Prince. This was THE race of the day. Both guys had the wick turned up knowing the other was right there. One bobble or slip and the other guy would be GGGOOONNNEEEE. They left about equal (I did not see the time slip for this race) and the black smoke was ROLLING from both rigs. At the 1/8 mile from the stands Darren appeared to have a slight lead, but Jeff was right there. Darren Morrison turns on the win lite with a 10. 58 to a losesing 10. 87 for Jeff Prince.

Mr. Stucky gets the bye this round.

Final:

Mr Morrison and Mr. Stucky in the final. This is how it is suppose to be, the #1 and #2 qualifiers ready to mix it up. Mr. Stucky had his work cut out for him but was ready to rock and roll. Both trucks ease up to the beams, building boost, black smoke rolling. The tree flashes green..... off goes Mr. Morrison in a haze of black smoke... ..... Mr. Stucky has problems as the light went green. Can you say GRENADED rear end. I have never in my life seen a drive shaft spinning so fast without the truck rolling at all. He appeared to have grenaded it at the hit and never moved and inch. Darren coasts thru with a winning 11. 12.

Congrats to all of the Pro Street drivers and crews. All but Mr. Prince made pulls to get here of a minimum 10 hours away. Congrats to Darren and crew on his win and being #1 qualifier :-laf way to go guys.

Seemed like attendance was down compared to last year. Where was everyone? The racing was still good but it would have been nice to see more competition.

As of now the theory is: "They were out hunting" makes since because hunting season opened two weeks ago in SE texas.

I was wandering why there were not more people there myself. I was hoping to see some of those fast duramax's I keep hearing about. I had a pretty good day i ran a 12. 45@ 108MPH . I hope the diesel racing around here keeps getting bigger and hopefully have some more events.

RcCox: Those dyno numbers you have posted seem a lot high. . was that on a dynojet by chance? on a mustang 1750 my friend with same mods as you cept' Crazy Larry program and 6-speed dyno'd 565/1087tq . I'd like to see your numbers on a stout load dyno if you ever get around to it ;)

Cummzpowr, No Those Numbers Where Not On A Mustang. those Numbers Where Put Down On A Dynojet At A Dyno Event In Dallas,tx. there Where Numerous Tdr Members On Hand That Seen It. i Owe My Power To Relentless Diesel Who Did An Awesome Job On My Twins And Transmission. my Truck Is Not Even The Fastest Common Rail From Chris's Shop. my Friend With The Same Set Up Ran A 12. 20 At Indy This Year. so, No My Numbers Arent High , I'm Wondering Why I Didnt Run That Fast , I Could Only Manage A 12. 45@108mph.

RCCox,

I am impressed with your dyno numbers and track times. Your sig does not mention anything done under the valve cover. Were those numbers made with stock injectors, stock head bolts and diesel only???

JVolpe,

Iam currently running stock head bolts and stock injectors. My fastest pass was made with a very small shot of nitrous. Small meaning a 75 shot of gas. My motor times where in the 12. 60 to 12. 70 range. I plan to eventually install injectors but i am waitnig to see who makes the best ones.

Thanks for the reply.

Looks like I need to try some different settings with me EZ and TST. Maybe it is just the driver, I should not be that far behind you. .

I would like to have ran better in the race, but I got a voicemail from my GF saying "I think im dying, im at the hospital, good luck in the race" right before the 1st round. She had a urinary tract infection, after some good pain drugs and antibiotics, shes doing better now. Well, there's next year.
