I have an Edge Comp, connected to the VP44 with the Blue Chip Injection Pump Cover. Ever since I installed the Edge Comp (about 2 yrs ago), I have had an intermittent Check Engine light. It lights up about every 10 or 15 starts, then clears after the usual 4 good starts. There is no other symptom - truck drives great, even towing.
On a start when Check Engine light comes on, the engine starts normally, but revs up about 100 RPM higher than normal idle for 1 sec, then immediately settles down to normal. No other symptom.
When I disconnect the Edge Comp from the VP-44, I NEVER get a Check Engine light indication. When I do this, the Edge Comp remains connected to the computer cable and I assume I'm still getting level 1 enhancement.
The codes I read with my Actron reader when Check Engine comes on are:
P1682, P0122, P1693 and P1689.
I have recently replaced the lift pump with the Glacier and now get 14PSI pressure (it ran 3-7 before but never failed). I haven't replaced the VP-44 injector pump, but have no symptoms of needing to (yet).
Any ideas? Should I ship the Edge Comp to the factory for evaluation? Would the Blue Chip Pump Cover cause this? Or do I need to put black tape over the Check Engine Light? Anybody ever seen this
Thanks,
Jim
