B-52's Deployed to Middle East

Uh...what??? o_O Sorry Bill but clearly these people have no idea what they're talking about and are either too dense to understand this...or they understand that the amount of money you gave them is almost not worth fighting for. At this point if they wont concede I think I would just let them know that you'll be posting everywhere possible on the internet (with the information they've provided you) how completely incompetent their service dept is and how terrible their customer service is as well. Buying a vehicle from these people would be foolish for most people expecting quality professional service. In todays world of social media, forums, and online rating systems, word of mouth is more powerful of a tool than litigation... Especially with most people doing their investigating and research on the internet before doing anything.

OZZY
I was specifically referring to the in tank conversion for the 98.5's-2002 which as JR mentioned are fairly lucky to get 12psi (many only see 8-10 under load) and the P7100 injection pump on the pre 98.5s requires more than that. Now they could possibly have a separate/different pump for the 12 valves that does put out more pressure but since it seems no one has ever even heard of this conversion on a 12 valve I find that doubtful.

And people wonder why I say “no one” when they ask “who is a good mechanic around here”. Too many shops around here would be this way.

And, here you go......

I can post it all if y'all want, but this is Bill's WO and the first page of the Conversion Kit from Dodge.

Yup - for a 24 valve engine!

Just look at the pic. I bet you don't have that fuel pump to remove. You should have the mechanical pump on the block.

This is nuts. Bill, if I were you I would take the work order and your truck and ask them to show you exactly where the electrical connection is they are to unplug when removing the OE lift pump that is detailed in the sheet. When they can not show you the path forward to a refund should be undeniable.

Thats a great idea. Tell this "higher up" person to have the service manager with the aid of his tech show you exactly on your truck where that fuel pump is located, the connection plug for that fuel pump, and to look up the fuel requirements for a 12 valve compared to a 24 valve. What morons...

I haven't really looked at the pdf yet (I'm driving) but someone else from Dodge just called to tell me both the 12V and 24V are listed on it....

It’s obvious that;
This is a poorly written service bulletin,
The dealer, FCA, and even Rock Auto don’t acknowledge the .5 year changeover. However, when looking at 1998 fuel injectors (a positive telltale), the different VINs are called out, and it appears that-
12 valve trucks are a “D”
24 valve trucks are a “6”
Bill I see on your ticket, you have a “D”
There should be a notation on the service document about the engine changeover, and identifying the vehicle properly before trying to service it.

I need to go down the corporate ladder at FCA and bring this to their attention. Be the only way to resolve it. They are starting to make me think I'm crazy. Woman at Dodge said " all I know when I put your VIN in is that this bulletin comes up".
