B-52's Deployed to Middle East

The funny (not really) thing about this is I've called all 3 local Dodge dealers, gave them my VIN and all 3 say there is a conversion for my truck. I've also randomly picked and called various other dealers in other states and none come back with a conversion. Hopefully I'll get response any day now on cc transaction dispute...

I'm far from a parts guy, but you can see on my attachment that the OEM pump does not supersede to the package. Unless I'm doing it wrong I don't see how they got there. That's why I suggested they actually show you in person. Might try at your closest dealer first.

"Based on our investigation we have determined that no error was made, therefore no funds will be credited ". I'm fighting this one guys. I get to request documents used that the bank made their determination with so you bet I'm requesting them. Stay tuned....

I'm sure their "investigation" included the differences in the 12V vs 24V fuel system.

This SHOULD have been a simple resolution with the dealer. Sorry for your troubles.

I got FCA on the phone AGAIN and made it clear AGAIN they need to find out why my VIN shows this conversion bulletin at this particular dealer so they are now in touch with the technical dept. and said they will email any findings. I will wait on that plus the bank documents then move forward.

That doesn’t address the fact that the diagnosis was wrong to begin with. You didn’t need a new fuel pump and installing one wouldn’t have corrected the problem. Do they understand that?

I probably missed this. But, just out of curiosity, did fca actually tell you that they told the dealer the conversion is correct ? Or did the dealer just tell you they did ?

Not sure they do. Who knows what the Dodge dealer told my bank on their end of the story. I'm back to going to FCA since the dealer didn't acknowledge they were wrong AND since I still consider this a technical issue with the conversion bulletin that this particular Dodge pulled up with my VIN. It was suggested I find this Dodge dealers owner's contact information to let them know also but that's a needle in a haystack.

FCA didn't tell me anything on the original case I opened other then this was a specific Dodge dealer issue and that they were closing the case. So it was just the dealer who told me it was correct.I'm not biased here but the woman at FCA didn't clearly understand me I think. Today when I called I got a male and he totally understood my point. That's why he sent it to tech dept. to question it further. The woman didn't even read my response showing the pdf of the conversion. I use this nice app called Mailtrack that shows you in real time once an email was read... I had sent her 3 emails and none get read.

Have you considered small claims court against the dealer? You would recoup your actual charge plus all cost associated in fighting this bogus diagnostic. Sounds pretty cut and dry.

The court will have a hard time understanding what we already know. It’s all in the details that are blind to the ignorant.
True enough, but when you take your supporting docs, maybe a seasoned mechanic with you.....it does matter where this takes place. If in the 9th circus, forget it. Small claims is pretty laid back, evidence and a paper trail rules. The threat alone, may make the dealer back off and refund the charge. Beyond that, you let every on-line rating site know about this dealers service dept. Most dealers have surveys on their own sites you can do also.

If you got your credit card to reverse the charges then I think I'd just call it good... No point in chancing the judge not seeing the stupidity of the dealer and then you're out even more money.

I have considered it.. I'm waiting for FCA to get back to me with their findings on this. From there I'll move forward.

The funds were not credited back. See earlier post. The cc company said they determined there was "no error" on Dodge dealers part. Who knows what Dodge said on their side of this.... that's why I need to pursue this further.

This is really becoming a joke now BUT I am persistent. Every time I call FCA I get a different "associate" who I have to give the details to EVEN THOUGH there is an existing open case. They said they flagged my case today and someone from the tech. dept. will get in contact with me today.... we'll see.
