I'm looking at the DiamondBack HD bed cover. Does anyone have any experience with it? I'm really curious about experiences people have had with carrying weight on top. The mfg. claims a 1,600# load carrying capacity on top of the bed cover (they have an option for loading and carrying 2 four wheelers). I'm curious about the load carrying capacity of the bed rails of the truck bed. I've looked in a couple of places for a load carrying capacity for the bed rails and haven't been able to find anything...

Anyway... ... anyone know anything about this??

Thanks.

I too was looking at them last year to carry a couple ATV's on the bed (while moving across country). I was having a difficult time figuring out all the parts needed to get it all together and I lost focus and got them relocated another way. I still circle back from time to time thinking about picking one of these up. It's a lot of $$, but seems like a well made product from all the youtube videos I've seen.

Had one, to haul the quad. I ended up installing some pieces of angle iron to the inside edge of the box rails, and installed some "eye bolts" to underside of the tailend of the cover to keep it from being pulled upwards from the weight of the quad. Found quad was pulling upwards on the deck (rough roads/washboard) and deforming the box rails. Be sure to tighten the cover down, co-worker had his work loose and now has paint worn on the back of the cab as the cover slide forward and rubbed through.
