Well today I was driving home from work and I went to pass some lady, and I heard a loud pop sound. I looked back and I was throwing a ton of black smoke and then it swithched over to a light grey color. The truck was running real rough and lots of that light colored smoke was still coming out when I pulled into my driveway. I shut my truck off and popped the hood. No oil insight on the motor. I checked the oil and no bubbles on the dipstick, so no antifreeze in the oil. Antifreeze hasn't changed color either, so no oil inthere. I plugged in my smarty and checked for codes and nothing.
I then checked all my boots and turbo and all good to go there. I started the truck up again and it idles fine, no smoke, rev the motor and I get a puff of black smoke like ususal. I then took it for a spin down the the block and it drove fine until I hit about 15psi of boost and then the light grey smoke started flowing out and the truck died. I put it in park, let the truck sit for a minute and turned around and went back home.
Why does it idle fine and run ok when I'm driving slowly, but as soon as I build boost and put a load to the truck this happens? What do you guys think? Is there something else that I could be missing? Any help would be appreciated.
Chris
