As I mention in another post ( https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118329 ) I'm starting to run across subtle hints that the previous owner of my '95 (I bought it off a used-car lot) may have been a TDR reader (starter has LarryB contacts, and the overflow valve was removed by grinding the intake manifold flange back). I would welcome finding the original owner, just to learn a little about the truck's history (among other things, has the KDP been killed?)

Here's some info to help you recognize whether this is your old truck:

VIN: 3B7KF23C1SM122987

1995 2500 Club Cab Laramie SLT 4x4, auto trans. , factory trailer hitch and keyless entry/alarm system

COLOR: Red over silver, red cloth interior

BED: 8', no liner

MODS: None I've found so far... appears to have been straight stock (I know, I know... "can't be TDR!")

MILES: 148 K when I bought it back in... uh... June '04 maybe?

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS (when I bought it):

* steering wheel leather worn through at 12 o'clock

* radio didn't work due to bad antenna cable

* one of the gate cables was rusted through and broken

* long, shallow horizontal dent in driver's side door

If this was your truck, hey, thanks for breaking it in for me :D ! It runs like a top, I love it and, as my sig shows, I'm slowly but surely buying it a new lease on life. But I would like to find out a few things, such as whether you killed the KDP. So if this was your baby, please PM or e-mail me. Thanks!

Your truck was sold and serviced by Kasing auto sales in Harmony Pa,The original owner lived in Prospect... ... ... ... At least that is what a little birdie told me.

Is there some way you could do my newest bomb wagon? It's had a hard life and I wonder where it's from originally.....

VIN 1B6MF36CXRS659938

I'd sure like to hear what the little birdie says about mine.

could you check my vin? Plus... if one of you work at a dealer, is there anyway I can get a DETAILED print out of the work preformed on it by any Dodge Dealer?

Guys,

I think you can find out a lot of this data through CarFax.com. I was surprised at the amount of detail that they provide. I would give that a try.

Phil

Carfax may have a lot of information about some vehicles... but it didn't have #&%^ about my truck... i bought my 2000 knowing it had been wrecked or been in some sort of accident. the stell on the hitch was peened over on the ends, theres filler in the door, the hood shows some signs of body work, as well as the bed sides... the drive train is solid it drives straight and the price was right

OH YEAH WANTED THE CUMMINS TOO

but carfax had no info on an accident... think they'd know something about an accident that causes that much damage... at least you have to look real hard for the fixed spots
