I was driving down the road and saw a Dodge diesel for sale. 1998 2500 4x4 diesel extended cab long bed (not a quad). It had $3000 written on it. It needs a turbo and the body is a little rough. It had a different color door on it also. Turbo is shot. The truck was converted from a auto to a six speed. The guy said it had a twin disc adjustable clutch in it. It was his sons and he repoed it from him. I jump started the truck and it sounded good. I bought the thing. Now i need a turbo and a front bumper. I Didn't think 3k was that bad for a truck with a six speed.

I would say you did OK. . . the engine itself is probably worth that much. If the truck doesn't work out you could always part it out!

I paid $9000 for my 351,000-mile '96 club cab 4x4 LB but mine's in better shape.

175k sounds like a great deal. I remember when i was looking at a 1997 reg cab long bed 4x4 5 speed for $7,000 had 215,000 miles on it

Holy crap I would have jumped all over that deal for a 215 truck. My 94' with 244K cost me 9 grand. But the manaul trans CTD's bring a lot in this area because they are very rare. On the average a manual trans is $2000 more than an auto.

You got ripped off big time! But being the nice guy I am I will take it off your hands for what you paid for it... ... ... :)
